Preparations are underway to complete the fourth convoy of displaced families from the countryside of Serê Kaniyê, which is scheduled to depart in the coming days after procedures are completed for the return of displaced families to the villages reached by the third convoy.

Zahra Samo, an administrator with the Serê Kaniyê Displaced Persons Committee, said: “Meetings are currently being held with displaced families residing in Washokani Camp to complete the procedures for their return to the villages included in the third convoy’s return.”

Zahra Samo added that more than 500 families are expected to return as part of the fourth convoy to villages in the countryside of Serê Kaniyê, as well as several villages in the countryside of Tel Tamer and Zerkan.

Zahra Samo explained that the convoy’s departure date depends on completing the census and securing transportation for the displaced families. She noted that, if the arrangements are completed, the convoy could depart on Thursday, while its departure could be postponed until Sunday if the procedures are not completed.

The third convoy departed on Monday, carrying 511 returning families, according to the Serê Kaniyê Displaced Persons Committee.
