The General Command of the Internal Security Forces in NE Syria issued a statement today to the public, revealing that one of its patrols was attacked by mercenary ISIS cells on the Raqqa–Hasaka road.

The statement said that amid the increasing activity of the mercenary cells and their ongoing attempts to undermine stability in the region, one of their armed cells carried out an attack this morning at 9:00 AM targeting a patrol belonging to the Internal Security Forces in the "Convoy and Roads Security" division, at the Makman checkpoint in the Sabahi al-Khair area on the Raqqa–Hasaka road.

The forces clarified in the statement: "A remotely detonated landmine exploded under the patrol vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of three of our members while they were fulfilling their duty to protect the road and secure civilian movement, and injuring another member who is currently receiving necessary medical care. Information indicates the presence of a second landmine in the area, and bomb and explosives experts are conducting meticulous sweeps to detect it and fully secure the site."

The Internal Security Forces noted: "This terrorist act comes amid the escalating movements of the ISIS organization in various areas of North and East Syria, especially around Al-Hol and some rural areas of Raqqa and Hasaka, where a recent series of attacks and infiltrations targeted the stability and security of civilians."

The Internal Security Forces affirmed: "While we mourn our heroic martyrs, we emphasize that their sacrifice will not be in vain. Our forces will continue their sacred duty in combating terrorism until uprooting the remnants of this criminal organization completely. We also announce that sweeping, investigation, and pursuit operations have already begun to chase those involved in this cowardly act, and no one who tries to harm the security of our regions and people will escape punishment."
