2 fighters from Tishreen Dam: Our people have provided us with strength 

Two fighters from the front surrounding the Tishreen Dam spoke to ANHA agency about the historical resistance led by fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the fighters of the Women's Protection Units in the vicinity of the Tishreen Dam against the attacks of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries. 

The fighter, Agid Sharwi, confirmed: “Our forces waged historic resistance in the face of the attacks of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries on the Tishreen Dam, which represents an important strategic point in NE Syria, and a main gateway to the region.”

The fighter, Agid Sharwi, explained: “The attacks began using all types of weapons, heavy weapons, Turkish-made armor, and drones, and the participation of large numbers of mercenaries. In return, the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Women’s Protection Units, and our people showed heroic resistance, and were able to break these attacks, and the bodies of the mercenaries and burned armor piled up on the battlefield, what brought despair into their hearts and prompted them to flee.”

He pointed out, "Thanks to this resistance, our forces were able to carry out a counterattack to secure the dam axis and the villages surrounding it, and despite the intense attacks by mercenaries, our forces were able to advance to protect the area."

Agid Sharwi confirmed: "The fighting continued without interruption, as there are daily and violent clashes, and the mercenaries supported by the Turkish occupation state are suffering heavy losses in lives and equipment, and they were unable to face the resistance of our veteran fighters who are tied to their land and homeland."

Sharwi explained: "We have made a pledge to follow the path of the martyrs and we will continue to resist, regardless of the sacrifices. We also offer our condolences to the families of the civilian martyrs who were targeted by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries,” and stressed that "their pure blood will push us towards victory for NE Syria."

Our people give us strength

The fighter, Agid Sharwi, stated that he is confident that victory will be their ally, and he said: “We are confident of victory, and we know that the blood that was spilled here will not be in vain, but rather it is what will bring peace, security, stability, coexistence and the democratic life for NE Syria that we are fighting for. And our people With all its components, including the Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, and Armenians, which came to the Tishreen Dam, defying the cold and the attacks, it provided us with the strength and resistance with which we broke the Mercenaries power and we thwarted their plans. We bow in respect to people’s courage, stance and resistance.”

Sharwi praised the continued resistance of the people protesting against the dam, saying: “Whoever endures the cold and the bombing and sacrifices the martyrs and the wounded will not be defeated by a handful of mercenaries.”

Sharwi sent a message saying: “We are victorious and steadfast here, and we will not budge, but rather we will move forward. We reassure our people that our morale is high and our faith and confidence in victory is unshakable.”    

In turn, the fighter in the Manbij Military Council forces, Khalil Qahraman, said that the Turkish occupation state: “Through its attacks on the Tishreen Dam, it seeks to occupy Syrian lands under the pretext of the presence of Kurdish forces calling for secession, but the truth that has become clear to everyone is that the Syrian Democratic Forces project aims to the unity of the Syrian lands and the preservation of all components of the Syrian people, including the Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen, and Syriacs. This was clearly demonstrated by the popular resistance in the Tishreen Dam, where everyone joined forces to defend the gains Which was liberated from ISIS by the blood of the martyrs and their continuous sacrifices.”

Khalil Qahraman explained: “When the Turkish occupation state saw this popular rally, it tried, through its mercenaries and using all types of weapons, to occupy this strategic area, the Tishreen Dam and the Qarqozaq Bridge, but the resistance of our forces thwarted all their attempts and did not allow them to advance even a single inch.”

Determined to achieve victory

He drew attention to the people’s resistance to the dam and their rally around their forces, saying: “Those who are brave in defending this area are a source of inspiration for us, and the people’s rally around our forces was clearly demonstrated to the world, as the people flocked to the resistance dam despite the heavy bombardment by warplanes, drones and artillery, despite the casualties and martyrs, did not weaken their resolve, but rather increased their strength.”

He praised the heroic resistance of the fighters by saying: “Since the beginning of the attacks, the Turkish occupation state has used various types of weapons, including armored cars, tanks and artillery, and in the recent period it began using military aircraft to bomb the areas of the Tishreen Dam and Qarqozaq Bridge. Despite all of this, the resistance of our fighters, their strength derived from the support of the people weakened the morale of the mercenaries and made them reluctant to fight.”

The fighter, Khalil Qahraman, referred to the attempts of the Turkish occupation to raise the morale of its mercenaries, and said: “Turkish occupation state uses military aviation to raise the morale of mercenaries, but all its attempts fail and didn’t

 affect our confidence in victory or shake our resolve, but rather increased our determination to struggle and strive.”

He stressed, saying: "We are stationed here and the morale of our comrades is very high and they are determined to achieve victory. This historic struggle that our fighters are waging with their solid will and belief in the project of the democratic nation against the Turkish occupation state, will bear fruit in achieving victory and thwarting all the occupation's plans."

At the end, he pledged, "We pledge to our people, our martyrs, and our comrades stationed on the fronts that we will win this battle, and we will fight until the last drop of blood in our bodies. Every fighter here is a project of martyrdom in the face of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries
