At least 18 people have been killed in various parts of Syria in the past 24 hours as a result of violence, explosions and separate killings, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

In the Damascus countryside, two young Druze men were executed three days after being arrested by members of the Damascus authorities during the recent events in Qatana. A doctor was field-executed in the same area, days after he was arrested by Damascus Authority security forces solely because he belonged to the Alawite sect.

In Daraa, former Free Army commander Maher al-Labad, his son and a third young man were shot dead by unidentified assailants in a car wash in the city of al-Sanamayn, while a university student was killed by stray bullets during clashes between two armed groups in the same city.

In Aleppo, a university professor from the Alawite sect was shot dead by unknown gunmen on a motorcycle. In the eastern countryside of Salmiya, Hama, an armed group loyal to the Damascus authority executed a man in the field after breaking into his house.

The remains of three unidentified people were found in the Badia of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs. The body of a young man was found in Damascus after disappearing for more than a month.

In Deir ez-Zor, a landmine explosion in the town of al-Mari'iyah killed three children, while a girl died of wounds sustained earlier when her house was shot at in the Hama countryside.

In Latakia, a young man was shot dead over financial disputes in the Montazah neighborhood.
