SDF: Our forces surrounded militants who infiltrated areas east of Deir ez-Zor

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement saying that two groups of armed men affiliated with the Damascus government forces infiltrated areas in the Dhiban district, east of Deir ez-Zor.

The statement stated:

"Our forces surrounded two groups of armed men affiliated with the Syrian regime's security services, who infiltrated under cover of indiscriminate artillery shelling from the city of Al-Mayadeen on the western bank of the Euphrates River to areas in the Dhiban district, east of Deir ez-Zor."

The statement stated that the Syrian Democratic Forces took "immediate security measures necessary to impose security and stability in the region and facilitated the movement of civilians to safe areas in neighboring villages, ensuring their safety, and preventing mercenary militants from involving them in their terrorist attack, until the militants were eliminated or their surrender was imposed."

According to the statement, a number of militants were killed during the clashes and a number of others were injured. “They were transferred to areas controlled by the Syrian regime on the west bank of the Euphrates River, while indiscriminate shelling with mortar and artillery shells originating from regime-controlled areas in the west of the Euphrates caused the injury of a number of residents and caused material damage to their property.”
