The speech of the Deputy of the co-chairmanship of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hassan Koçer, came during his joining via the Zoom application in the symposium organized today by the Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council, SDC, Afrin and al-Shahba Center, under the title "On the fifth anniversary of the occupation of Afrin and the absence of a political horizon."

At the beginning of his speech, Hassan Koçer praised the resistance of the people of Afrin canton in al-Shahba canton in the camps and semi-destroyed houses, and said: "The next few days coincide with the anniversary of the occupation of Afrin canton by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and the displacement of its people to al-Shahba canton, who were taken from the camps and semi-destroyed houses A platform for resistance against the plans of the Turkish occupation.

He stressed that "the plot that was plotted against Afrin canton is an extension of the dirty plot against Syria, and the policies that accelerated before the eyes of the world confirm that they had a hand in the crimes and violations committed against children and women and the nature of the Afrin canton."

And he continued: "With the passage of five years of occupation, the occupation continues through its mercenaries to kidnap and kill citizens, seize their property and sabotage the nature of the canton. Today, the silence of organizations and countries that claim humanity confirms to us that these crimes are committed by their orders and they are partners in them."

He pointed out, "The international silence regarding these crimes, which amounted to war crimes and genocide, opened the way for the Turkish occupation to complete the process of demographic change, and this is what we saw through the practices of organizations claiming humanity, which over the course of five years built more than 20 settlements for the families of mercenaries and ISIS."

The lie of fighting ISIS mercenaries

He added, "All countries and parties fighting ISIS see that Turkey is its first sponsor in northern Syria, and this is what we saw in the occupied areas such as Afrin, Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê, and it was evident in the city of Idlib, close to the Syrian-Turkish border, when the leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed and after that." Within a period of time, a series of ISIS leaders were killed.

"This conspiracy against the Syrian people continues, the conspiracy through which Turkey seeks to restore the Ottoman Empire, and this is what we saw in Libya, Syria and other regions."

"Russia is working to achieve its interests, as happened in Afrin with Turkey, as it is ready to sell all of Syria to the Turkish occupation in return for obtaining interests in Ukraine."

They seek to foil AANES project

Hassan Koçer spoke about the meetings held between the Damascus government, the Turkish occupation and Russia, "recently many meetings have been held between the Turkish occupation, Russia and the Damascus government. These meetings are built on one basis, which is striking the Autonomous Administration project, and the repercussions of these meetings began to appear, through the spread of the private war." between the people, inciting the clans against the administration and mobilizing ISIS cells in the region, as they target the region on a daily basis through continuous bombing, targeting cars through drones, and we know that part of the airspace is in the hands of the Global Coalition and the second part is in the hands of Russia, and this last meeting is a continuation of following up on those policies.

He said, "The biggest beneficiaries of these policies are Russia, and the silence of the Global Coalition falls within the framework of appeasing Turkey."

"The occupation of northern Syria is the occupation of Damascus"

He stressed, "If Turkey invades northern Syria, Syria in general and Damascus in particular will also fall, and the people in northern Syria know these plans and are fully prepared to fight them."

"They accuse us of dividing Syria"

Regarding the accusation of the Autonomous Administration, he said: "The government of Damascus and Russia accuse us of dividing Syria. If we were like that, then why did Turkey occupy Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî?"

"Today, if the people of North and East Syria did not resist against the plans of the Turkish occupation and the expansion of ISIS, we would have seen the division of Syria, and this is what we see in the occupied regions, that region in which there is no sovereignty of the Syrian government."

He added, "We prepared aid to send it to the affected areas, as aid came from neighboring countries. For fifteen days, the convoys were in Manbij, but the Damascus government prevented the passage of that aid to the region."

In the conclusion of his speech, the deputy of the co-chairmanship of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hassan Koçer, affirmed that "the resistance of the people of Afrin region in the semi-destroyed houses and camps, despite the difficult conditions and the siege, has become an impenetrable barrier against the expansion of the occupation plans."
