​​​​​​​Afrin women withstand siege and attacks

  The displaced women of Afrin in al-Shahba canton shared their views on the siege imposed by the Damascus government on the region and the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state on it.

 Alif Othman referred to the suffocating siege imposed on al-Shahba canton, and explained that the Damascus government does not allow the entry of fuel, medicine, and daily needs into the region.

 Alif also indicated that they were subjected to attacks by the Turkish occupation state in conjunction with this suffocating siege. They stated that they have been resisting in the camps for 5 years and continue their lives despite these difficult circumstances.

 Alif explained that the Autonomous Administration of Afrin region is doing everything to help the people and provide their needs, but despite that they face difficulties due to the suffocating siege. They stressed the continuation of the resistance until the liberation of Afrin and the return to their homes, no matter what happens.

 For her part, Lutfia Hassan indicated that their conditions have worsened than in previous years due to this siege, and she said: "Our children are young and need milk, so we collect firewood to prepare it."

 She pointed out that, in addition to this siege, they are also subjected to daily attacks, and said, "But we will fight with great determination."

 Lutfia called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to visit the area, see the situation of the people, and put pressure on the Damascus government to lift the siege on them.
