Fighting has continued between the mercenary groups affiliated with the Turkish occupation in the occupied canton of Afrin and other areas of Northern Syria occupied by Turkey, for days.

These clashes began a few days ago between the mercenaries of the Levant Front and the Hamza Division in the center of the occupied city of al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, to extend to the occupied villages of Afrin.

On October 11, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the mercenaries of the "Syrian Front" managed to control the headquarters of the "Hamza Division" mercenaries in the village of Bablit in the countryside of Afrin, northwest of Aleppo, after violent clashes between the two parties, during which they used machine guns. Medium and light, within the densely populated neighborhoods of the village, which sparked a state of panic and fear among the residents.

Thus, the "Jabha Shamiya" mercenaries have expanded their areas of control at the expense of the "Hamza Division" in Afrin, northwest of Aleppo, and al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.

The “Jabha al-Shamiya" mercenaries also took control of several villages in the countryside of Afrin, northwest of Aleppo, with the support of "Nour al-Din al-Zanki" and "Al-Farouq Brigade" led by the "Abu Jaber al-Batran" who recently defected from the "Hamza Division", without any clashes occurring between the two parties.

In a related context, columns of troops the "Ahrar al-Sham" mercenaries launched from Idlib governorate on Tuesday evening, towards the city of Afrin, which is under the occupation of the "National Army" mercenaries, through the al-Ghazawiya crossing separating the areas controlled by the "Tahrir al-Sham" and "National Army" mercenaries in the city of Afrin.

As a result of these clashes, until the preparation of this report, the "Jabha al-Shamiya" mercenaries took control of 5 villages during the clashes with the "Hamza Division", which are: "Fariria, Kafr Zeit, Tal Hamo, Talef and Kokbeh" in Afrin.

The mercenaries of the "Third Legion" represented by the "Jabha Shamiya" took control of the entire headquarters and camps of the "Hamza Division" in the city of al-Bab, and besieged the village of al-Zagha, and reduced the influence of the "Hamza Division" on some villages adjacent to the city.

This is not the first time that fighting has occurred between the mercenary groups affiliated with the Turkish occupation, as it happened previously in Idlib, the countryside of Aleppo, Hama, Serê Kaniyê, Girê Spî and Jarablus, and although the reasons were many, the goals and results were the same.

Observers believe that the current fighting that is taking place between the mercenary groups affiliated with the Turkish occupation is at the behest of the Turkish occupation and has two goals. The first goal is to hide the failure and the inability of the occupation to launch attacks on North and East Syria, the second goal is to please its partners in Astana, especially in light of the talk about the approach of negotiations between the Damascus Government and the Turkish occupation.

According to the Syrian Observatory, the "al-Sham Legion" mercenaries close to the Turkish occupation intelligence, opened the al-Ghazawiya crossing in the Sherawa district in front of the reinforcements of "Ahrar al-Sham" mercenaries, coming to support the "Hamza Division" against the "Syrian Front" in the city of Afrin, and spread in the villages of Sherawa district in the section under the control of "Sham Legion", without any clash between the two parties.

Reports said that the Turkish occupation began with some preliminary steps for this negotiation, as it changed the officials of the Syrian file in the Turkish Foreign Ministry, while the Damascus Government transferred Bashar al-Jaafari from Deputy Foreign Minister to its ambassador in Moscow, in order to lead the Damascus delegation during the negotiations with the Turkish occupation, which will take place in Russia.

In this context, observers do not rule out that the mercenaries of "Tahrir al-Sham" are planning to push the Turkish intelligence to expand in the areas of the so-called "National Army" recently occupied by Turkey, in preparation for the move from the Idlib areas and the implementation of the Turkish occupation's understandings with Russia.

The Turkish occupation had previously concluded a deal with Russia and Iran, during the Astana talks, during which it sold its mercenaries in Eastern Ghouta, Aleppo and the countryside of Idlib, Aleppo and Homs, as it was secretly ordering groups in other regions not to support the areas attacked by the Damascus Government.

Reports said that after the recent clashes, groups of "Tahrir al-Sham" entered the town of al-Basuta and the village of Ain Dara, and continued to send large military reinforcements to the borders of Afrin.

Reports added that the mercenaries of the Hamza Division sought help from "Tahrir al-Sham" and asked for support from them to the area, and indicated that the clashes are currently taking place between the mercenaries of the "Third Corps" on one side, and the "Hamza Division and groups from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" on the other hand, in the town of al-Basouta. And the village of Ain Dara in the countryside of Afrin, which indicates that "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" entered the area.

Reports confirmed that the "Tahrir al-Sham" columns moved from the city of Idlib, and some of them moved from the Sarmada and Harem regions in the northern countryside of Idlib.

On the 18th of June of this year, "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" entered with military columns bearing the banners of "Ahrar al-Sham Movement" and reached the borders of the city of Afrin, after controlling the al-Ghazawiya crossing, Janders district, and several villages and towns in the vicinity of Afrin city, following clashes that broke out between mercenaries. The Third Legion” and the “Eastern Sector of Ahrar al-Sham Movement” on the outskirts of the city of al-Bab, east of Aleppo Governorate.

Among the goals achieved by the Turkish occupation is to cause battles in the Syrian areas that it recently occupied, such as Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, in addition to the crimes committed there against the people who did not leave their homes, with the aim of displacing them and settling other people in these areas to change their demographics.

During the last period, the Turkish occupation, with the support of Kuwaiti and Palestinian Brotherhood associations, accelerated the construction of settlements in the occupied areas, especially Afrin, within the framework of steps that threaten the unity of the Syrian territories, including the Turkification policy of the Syrian regions by imposing the lira, Turkish education and raising the Turkish flag.

Many Syrians fear that these areas have been sold by international powers and the Damascus Government to the Turkish occupation, and the scenario of Sanjak of Alexandretta is repeated in these areas, where a formal referendum is organized on their exclusion and annexation of the Turkish state’s lands.

The Syrian journalist, Mustafa Abdi, spoke about the fighting between mercenaries, saying: "The clashes between the armed groups affiliated with Turkey are mainly related to the desire of each group to strengthen its influence and extend its control towards the areas controlled by other groups to satisfy the Turkish financier and show that they are the mostly to gain their trust. It is also linked to the conflict between These groups steal and loot the property, real estate and lands of citizens.”

He added, "The various cities occupied by Turkey are a battleground between these groups, and Afrin is the center of the fighting because it is divided between these groups within overlapping regions. Originally, these groups were formed from splits and alliances as a result of old conflicts and rebellions between them, and this conflict is linked to the desire of each group to expand and control over additional spaces allow it to reinforce its influence.
