​​​​​​​Kongra Star decries the assassination of Nakhan Akarsal in Sulaymaniyah

Kongra Star released a written statement denouncing the assassination of Nakhan Akarsal.

The statement reads;

"It is with great sadness and sorrow that we have received the news of the martyrdom of the women's freedom activist and activist and member of JINEOLOJI Nakhan Akarsal following an assassination in front of her home in Sulaymaniyah this morning.

Nakhan Akarsal was a member of the Academy of JINEOLOJI and editor of the journal JINEOLOJI, and in an effort to build a free society from the perspective of free women through work in g JINEOLOJI; Nakhan, with her iron will and great love, succeeded in transforming the logo; Women, life, freedom, to practical step.

This attack is deliberately, intentionally and systematically against the revolution of women and people throughout Kurdistan. Killing these pioneering women in their communities is Turkey's deadly state policy. This attack is aimed at the revolution of women and the people who lead them. In Rojava, home to the women's revolution, the Turkish state also seeks to eliminate the struggle of women by assassinating women politicians. It strives to weaken the struggle by assassinating women liberty leaders such as our political companion Haverin Khalaf, women's movement activists Zahra Burkal, Hubun Mulla Khalil, Amina Weisi, and a member of the Women's Protection Units, Jiyan Tolhildan, finally, the politician and the member of th Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), Zainab Sarukan, cannot be undermined or broken by the determination, will and power of free women. Our response will be to make the women's revolution a success throughout the world.

We strongly condemn this brutal attack on our academic, our scientist, activist and comrade Nakhan Akarsal. Those responsible for this attack must be held accountable and the international silence over the killing of democracy activists must be closed. The way for such attacks must be blocked.
