Deir-ez-Zor Military Council commander: we to confront ISIS cells with our strength

Commander in the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, Nuri al-Khalil, explained that the activity of ISIS cells in the region recently is to return ISIS to the region, stressing that Turkey is the one who supports these cells to achieve its colonial ambitions in the region, and stressed that their forces are fully prepared to deter any such activity cells in North and East Syria.

ISIS mercenary cells still pose a threat to the region in general, and are active from time to time, targeting members of civil institutions and security checkpoints in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor. However, the Deir ez-Zor Military Council launches security campaigns and pursues these cells; To extend security and safety in the region.

In this regard, Nuri al-Khalil spoke to ANHA’s agency, the commander of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, who said, "North and East Syria is subjected to external pressures that recruit and support ISIS cells and the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation. These cells carry out bombings and target leaders in the region, with the aim of destabilizing security and stability."

Nuri al-Khalil noted, "Our forces are deterring attacks carried out by terrorist cells, and are carrying out security campaigns targeting these cells in North and East Syria, especially in the areas of Deir ez-Zor."

"Recently, ISIS cells targeted several points of our forces in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and our forces pursued these cells and were arrested," he explained.

"The Syrian Democratic Forces combed the al-Hol Camp, confiscated large quantities of weapons and ammunition, and were able to arrest terrorist cells that carry out assassinations and bombings in the area," he said.

He continued, "These cells are very dangerous, trying to restructure ISIS mercenaries again in order to occupy the region, but we will not allow this and we will not allow any terrorist act targeting any of our regions."

Concluding his speech, he stressed, "We in the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Deir -ez-Zor Military Council, will fight any party that tries to destabilize the security and stability of all of North and East Syria, and the response will be decisive, and we will fight and pursue these cells with all our might and wherever they are."

The Syrian Democratic Forces had launched a security campaign in the al-Kubar area in the western countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, after terrorist cells targeted one of the military points in the area.
