​​​​​​​Arab researchers and experts: Arab-Kurdish alliance to protect entire region

 During the past years, Turkey worked to intervene in most countries in the region, especially after the start of the so-called Arab Spring, as it supported political Islam in these countries with the aim of dominating them.

 Turkish policies in the region target all components, including Arabs, Kurds, and Syriacs, which prompted many personalities, parties and entities in the region to call for the unification of these components to confront common dangers.

 Experts believe that some Arab regimes are not good at dealing with Turkish policies, or they may move in the direction of achieving their interests, which may be affected by the rapprochement between the components of the region.

 The Palestinian analyst, Muhammad Abu Mahdi, believes that the expansionist ambitions of the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the Arab countries did not stop despite the Turkish rapprochement with Saudi Arabia and the UAE and to some extent with Egypt.

He explained to our agency that until recently, Erdogan was threatening an aggression against northern Syria and the establishment of a buffer zone along the Syrian border with a depth of 30 kilometers under his control.  Turkish forces in Libya are fueling the militia conflict there in Tripoli and other Libyan cities.

 According to Abu Mahdi, Erdogan continues his crimes against the Kurds and outside Turkey, and seeks to block and ban their political activities through a set of legislation and laws that the AKP representatives and their national ally worked on.

 He pointed out that the official Arab regime, although it condemns these attacks on the sovereignty of a number of Arab countries, has failed to find deterrent mechanisms that guarantee stopping or limiting these violations, and a number of Arab countries have gone to close the file of the dispute with Turkey without obtaining guarantees from Erdogan  not to attack the sovereignty of any of the Arab countries, pointing out that they were able to do so as an embodiment of the concepts of a common destiny and Arab national security.

 The Palestinian researcher believes that the official Arab shortcoming still exists due to several political and economic factors, hence the need more to activate popular pressure mechanisms and joint action on the basis of preserving rights and the common history between Arabs and Kurds, rejecting Turkish interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, and confronting purges.  Ethnic practices against the Kurds, who are citizens of their Arab countries, and protecting them is a collective and moral responsibility.

He stressed that the presence of Arab-Kurdish committees to work together for rights and to address all forms of external aggression and looting of Arab wealth is important and has feasibility and a cumulative political impact. It contributes to modifying the orientations of Arab governments with the Turkish regime. At least creates and stimulates interactions within Arab and Kurdish societies to work for its national interests in the face of any external threat.

For his part, the official spokesman for the Northern Democratic Brigade, Mahmoud Habib, believes that the presence of an Arab-Kurdish alliance is capable of bringing about many changes in the political reality in the region, pointing out at the same time that the reality of the situation does not predict that.

He explained to our agency that there are several obstacles that prevent the formation of an Arab-Kurdish alliance at the present time, the most important of which is that many Arab countries do not fully own their decision because they are politically affiliated with regional and international alliances that force them to remain in the zero-sum situation towards events in the region.

 He pointed out that the language of interests has become higher than the language of right or duty, pointing out that the Arab countries draw up their policies according to the interests they achieve, and therefore their political compass is directed towards their interests or what they believe to be.

He stressed that the Arab countries will remain outside the regional circle of influence until they realize that their real interest is in the alliance with the Kurdish forces, and only then can they make an impact on the conflict equation in the region in the face of Turkish interventions.

 For his part, the Egyptian political activist, Ahmed Al-Anani, stressed that the Arab-Kurdish alliance, if it occurs, will reflect on the stability of the region and is able to confront Turkish expansion in Arab lands.

 He told our agency that the occurrence of an Arab-Kurdish rapprochement is capable of clipping Turkey's nails in the region and confronting its interventions in Syria and Iraq in particular, as well as preventing and repelling major operations carried out by the Turkish army, whether in northern Syria or Iraq.

 According to Al-Anani, one of the young leaders of the Homeland Defenders Party in Egypt, there is an Arab desire, perhaps led by Cairo, to bring about a rapprochement between the Damascus government and the Kurdish side represented by the Autonomous Administration, north and east of Syria, to work towards convergence of views and stop Turkish violations in northern Syria.

 He pointed out that the only solution in the face of Turkish moves in the region is a rapprochement and alliance, not only between the Kurdish forces, but between the general population of the region, Arabs and Kurds, enabling them to stand together in the face of Turkish ambitions.
