The Arab experts considered that the exposure of leader Ocalan reveals the duplication of international standards in dealing with the human rights file, stressing that the case of leader Abdullah Ocalan revealed that the interests are above the principles and morals that international organizations pay lip service to.

Despite the isolation of leader Ocalan in an effort to prevent his influence, experts emphasized that Ocalan has become a universal symbol and icon for all advocates of freedom and progress around the world.

Freedom is coming.

The Egyptian socialist leader, Ahmed Baha al-Din Shaaban, stressed during a special talk to ANHA’s agency that the issue of leader Abdul Ocalan concerns all supporters of freedom in the world as a central and fundamental issue not only for the Kurdish people but also for all supporters of the Forces for Progress and Freedom around the world.

The barbaric manner of Turkish fascism towards Ocalan was not surprising, and the international silence towards such violations was not new, pointing out that the international community ignored all its claims about freedom, human rights and others when it came to the issues of oppressed peoples.

"What happens to Ocalan is what happens to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, which was the case in a previous era of global icons like Nelson Mandela, who has been imprisoned for more than 27 years in the prisons of South Africa's racist regime," Shaaban said.

The recent period had seen the growing popularity of Ocalan and the rise in calls for his release by freedom and progressivism advocates around the world. An Arab initiative had been established to demand the freedom of Ocalan in Cairo and other international capitals.

The Egyptian politician believed that, despite Turkey's intransigence in the Ocalan case, "he will eventually come out and enjoy the freedom he deserves under his legendary resilience and what he gave the world during the period of his arrest", describing the ideas presented by leader Ocalan during the past period with great principles that will have a significant impact in the future on human thought.

Shaaban stressed that it was the duty of the world's democratic forces and sympathizers of the struggle of peoples to raise their voices in support of Ocalan's right to freedom, considering that the release of Ocalan would be a day of Eid for all the world's free.

"The release of Ocalan is soon and will come closer as the Kurdish people and friends of the Kurdish leader around the world continue their struggle and familiarize them with their cause of justice," he said.

A rare philosopher

Human rights activist Osama Shams, Head of the Egyptian Arab Organization for Human Rights, stressed during a special talk that the international silence towards Turkish practices against Ocalan exposes the lies of humanitarian values, ethics and principles among international organizations and institutions.

Human rights activist Osama Shams, Head of the Egyptian Arab Organization for Human Rights, stressed during a special talk that the international silence towards Turkish practices against Ocalan exposes the lies of humanitarian values, ethics and principles among international organizations and institutions.

Shams explained that international failure and complicity towards Ocalan is the biggest evidence that the policy of interests and allies is the only organization adopted in the international community and that talking about the rights of the vulnerable and the oppressed around the world is only slogans that are raised when they are compatible with the interest.

The human rights activist called on global human rights organizations and the international community to open the file of Turkish human rights violations "both against detainees such as Ocalan and his associates and even against minorities within Turkey", considering that there were significant violations by the Turkish regime against non-Turkish peoples in Turkey, which necessitated talking about such violations and holding those responsible accountable.

The Turkish policy activist also touched on the Middle East and the interventions of the Erdogan regime in countries such as Syria and Iraq, considering that "pro-Turkish militias in areas such as Afrin are committing demographic change and ethnic cleansing as a war crime that must not be silenced", demanding that Turkish-backed militia leaders in Syria be brought to international crime.

The Head of the Egyptian Arab Organization for Human Rights concluded by emphasizing that Turkey's violations "The right of Ocalan and what the Kurdish leader is being subjected to will not be able to obscure his idea of the world." He pointed out that Ocalan has become a universal symbol of freedom and an icon for all advocates of democracy, human rights and equality around the world, long or short, who will emerge and enjoy the status he deserves as a thinker and philosopher.

International interests

The political scholar, Firnaz Attiya, considered during a special talk to ANHA’s agency that "the what is being practiced against Abdullah Ocalan far from human rights, international law and human rights instruments where he is denied his rights guaranteed by international law."

International organizations were not moving in the Ocalan case "because there are regional and international interests in arresting the Kurdish leader", noting that some major states were of the view that the arrest of Ocalan was in their interests in the region by provoking tensions and unrest within the region, noting that the calm of the situation in the Middle East was not in their interest and therefore always sought to keep the situation raging in the region.

Firnaz stressed that some regional and international States do not seek to resolve the Kurdish-Turkish dispute, but may consider that maintaining the dispute and continuing the conflict, at the heart of which is the arrest of Ocalan, is one of the means of achieving their objectives and interests in the region.

Turkey was a mere arm of those Powers and tool for implementing its policies and interests in the Middle East.
