Residents of Washokani camp in Al-Hasakah condemn Turkish attacks on the area

 As a result of the escalation of the Turkish occupation state's attacks on northern and eastern Syria, and its targeting of citizens through its drones, the displaced residents of Washokani camp went out, today, Saturday, in a demonstration denouncing the Turkish attacks, organized by Kongra Star in Al-Hasakah.

 The demonstration started with the participants carrying placards that read "Stop the Turkish occupation state's terrorism against women" and "No to building settlements, No to demographic change, No to occupation, No to killing children."

 The demonstration included a statement delivered by a member of the Washokani camp council, Khawla Salem.

 At the outset, the statement said: "The Turkish occupation state has recently exceeded all humanitarian standards, values ​​and principles of the rights of groups and individuals, disregarding the articles, purposes and contents of the foundations of the United Nations."

 He pointed out that "what is happening at the present time reminds us of the Ottomans at the end of its bygone era, in terms of its massacres and exterminations against the original people of the region from the Kurds, Arabs, Armenians and Syriacs Assyrians, and as it used to today was practicing various types of extermination.  against our people at all cultural, social, economic and political levels, and making school children the target of its brutality.”

 The statement condemned in the strongest terms all the practices of the Turkish state, “against our people, and in particular the horrific crime committed against women fighters, women fighters and political activists in recent times.

 Concerning the silence of the international community, the statement called "Russia and America, which have signed ceasefire agreements with Turkey since 2019, to compel it to stop its crimes and end its genocidal policies." It also called on the United Nations and the international community to assume their responsibilities and end Turkey's occupation and its blatant interference in  the affairs of north and east Syria and the encroachment on its sovereignty.

 In conclusion, the statement offered its condolences to the families of the martyrs and the martyrs of the bombing of the Turkish drones, stressing, "We will continue to follow the path of our martyrs, as they are our moral leaders."

 The statement ended with chanting slogans saluting the martyrs and the resistance of the peoples.
