Unknown gunmen attacked security checkpoint in Daraa

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports that unknown gunmen, who are assumed to be local militants, attacked a “military security” checkpoint belonging to the Damascus government forces in the soutern part of Ibta town in the central countryside of Daraa. The incident resulted in clashes between the two sides.

Yesterday morning also, the Damascus government forces and their affiliated militias indiscriminately shelled the vicinity of Tefes city in the countryside of Daraa. Short clashes erupted in the southern part of the city between local militants and the Damascus government forces along with their affiliated militias. The clashes resulted in 5 people being injured. Simultaneously, the Damascus government forces attempted to advandce towards Tefes city. According to SOHR, the Damascus government still controll some military bases in southern Tefes on the Yadoud road. In the southern parts of the city, some people were forced to flee and migrate as a result.

According to SOHR documents, 333 attacks with different tactics have taken place in Daraa since the beginning of this year resulting in 287 people being killed.
