Zirgan citizens: We are not leaving our land

The attacks by the Turkish occupation against the Zirgan district has been continuing, despite the ceizefire agreement, since the occupation of Serekaniye on October 9 2019. As a result of these attacks, massive damages have been caused to peoples homes and properties and dozens have been martyred and injured.

According to the district council`s records, more than 23 thousand people live in Zirgan district and is administred by 42 communes and councils.

A citizen from Zirgan named Muhamed Saleh stated that: “The goal of the Turkish state is to destroy the stability of the region and create chaos, in order to empty the region and then occupy it. This has been done to many areas in Syria. They attempt to destroy the will and determination of the people in the region as well as its stability.”

Saleh pointed out that the district`s citizens will continue their struggle and resistance against the Turkish attacks and said: “No matter how much the Turkish occupation attacks us, we will continue our struggle and the defense of this land. Whatever the cost may be, we will not leave our land.”

Another citizen, named Khalil Allo, condemned the attacks by the Turkish occupation and named the Turkish occupation state as inhumane and unethical. He said: “The Turkish occupation state is constantly targeting the people of the region, the peaceful regions and even targets mosques. The so-called guarantor forces are remaining silent in regards to this. Turkey wants to revive the old Ottoman empire.”

Allo continued by saying: “There is hypocracy in the support for the people of North and East Syria. No matter how intense the bombardment is, our will is stronger than their planes and we will stay on this land until the very end. We will never give up.”

Another citizen named Salwa Muhammed stated that the citizens of the district are ready to carry out their duty in defending their land and also stated their readiness to fight side by side with the military forces against the Turkish occupation and their mercenaries.
