SDF calls for an independent investigation into bombing of "Kuwait al-Rahma" settlement

SDF's Media Center issued a statement today, in which it refuted the allegations of some media outlets supporting the Turkish occupation regarding the attack on the settlement.

The statement read:

"We received with great shock the news that a civilian was killed by a missile bombardment on the settlement of (Kuwait Al-Rahma), which was built by the Turkish occupation on the ruins of Al-Khalidiya village in Afrin, after it was razed and its original inhabitants were displaced.

* Our forces condemn such acts targeting residential areas populated by civilians from any party.

* The unproven accusations and without investigation from the first moment, in an area crowded with military organizations, including criminal organizations affiliated with Turkey, confirm the ready-made intention to camouflage the real perpetrator, which is equivalent to the bombing crime itself.

* The bombing coincided with sounds of Turkish bombing from its bases in the occupied areas of Maryamin and Azaz. It is not hidden from one of the dirty practices of the Turkish intelligence in fabricating crimes and lies and attaching them to its enemies, as the media published a while ago audio leaks of the Turkish intelligence chief in this regard.

* On the same day, Turkey committed a massacre against a family in the village of Mujibara, northeast of Tel Tamer district, where he was martyred during a Turkish civilian bombardment and 4 others were wounded, their blood is still hot and confirms Turkish criminality.

* Turkey has a bad history of massacres against civilians, both in Syria and Iraq, and despite the tangible material evidence that condemns it effectively and directly, it often evades recognition of these crimes, the latest of which was Turkey’s deliberate crime of killing nine civilians in the Zakho region of Iraqi Kurdistan.

During the first half of this July, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries carried out more than 950 missile and drone attacks, all of which targeted civilian-populated areas in NE Syria, and caused martyrdom and wounding of many civilians and extensive damage to their property.

* The only party that benefits from the killing of Syrians and the internal fighting is Turkey, especially with the presence of thousands of mercenaries who protect Turkish bases and soldiers on Syrian territory.

* All operations carried out by our forces against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries within the occupied Syrian territories come within the framework of the legitimate right of defense and in response to the crimes of the occupation against civilians, and take legitimate means that are in accordance with international law.
