UN Security Council to hold urgent session on Zakho massacre

Fouad Hussein, Iraqi Minister of Foregin Affairs stated in yesterday`s session in the Iraqi parliament that: “ The UN Security Council will Tuesday July 26 hold an urgent session set to discuss Turkey`s violations against Iraqi territory, especially the latest incident which was an obvious violation against Iraq`s sovereignity and international agreements.”

Hussein emphasized the importance of finding suitable ways and means against the continuation of Turkey`s bombardment against the territory of Iraq. The Iraqi government has also called for Turkey to withdraw its military forces from Iraq.

Iraq`s Foreign Affairs Minister stated yesterday that they had filed a complaint with the UN Security Council against Turkey with the demand of a urgent session to be held regarding the attack of the Turkish uccupation carried out in Zakho.

Last Wednesday, the Turkish occupation state carried out a massacre against a tourist destination in Perekh village of Bashur`s(South Kurdistan) Zakho district. 9 Iraqi tourists, including women and children were massacred. 23 others were also injured in the attack.
