Why no- fly zone is not imposed on NE, Syria?

For years, the people of north and east Syria have been calling for the necessity of imposing no-fly zone in repelling Turkish warplanes that are killing the Syrian people, but the Security Council and international forces, as usual, did not heed these demands. The writer and journalist Hussein Omar asserts that the regional countries have linked ending the Syrian massacre to achieving their goals and interests. So the people are not listened to.

Why not impose no- fly zone on North and East Syria?

International powers and even the Security Council and the United Nations follow double standards, as they affirm in their charters that the primary objective of the establishment of the United Nations is to prevent wars, preserve human rights, provide humanitarian aid, and promote sustainable development, but it does not respond to the demands of the people of north and east Syria, but rather moves according to international interests against popular interests; In Southern Kurdistan, after declaring a state of ban, the first parliament was formed between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 1992, and its first decision was to declare war against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which represents the aspirations of the Kurdish people, and to transform the entity located in Southern Kurdistan into an entity affiliated with regional and international powers, as is the case now, it is moving according to the instructions and orders of the Turkish occupying state, which is a member of NATO, most of which are members of the founders of the United Nations Charter and the Human Rights Organization, and members of the Security Council.

The writer and journalist Hussein Omar asserts that the peoples' demands do not affect international decisions, and he said: "The peoples' demands did not have an impact on international decisions, despite their legitimacy, especially in the circumstances and conditions we live in in the homeland called Syria, war ravaged country, which has become an open arena for conflicts. The international and regional regime refused to reconcile with the people, and thus its tyranny led to a state of rejecting its practices and behavior and escaping from it because of its use of imposed violence against those who opposed it.

Hussein Omar referred to the foreign interventions in Syria, and said: “This is why a group of regional and global countries intervened, and established military bases on their territory. It is difficult to predict the timing of their exit, and due to the presence of four conflicting forces with contradictory interests and different visions, these forces linked the end of the Syrian massacres to achieving their goals and interests. That is why no one listens to the legitimate demands of the Syrian people in order to protect them from those who kill them, occupy their lands and make them homeless.”

Omar highlighted the duality and impact of international interests on UN and international resolutions, and said: "It must be remembered here that there is no similarity between the stage in which the no- fly zone was imposed on Southern Kurdistan and the Rojava region, there the world powers were in agreement to support the Iraqi people against Saddam Hussein 's regime., and the Iraqi opposition, with all its Arab and Kurdish orientations, demanded the implementation of the ban because most of its cadres are in Kurdistan, and because there is a London agreement between all spectrums of the opposition to fight the regime and agree that the next Iraq will be a federation, just as Russia at the time was trying to win the approval of America, the West and China, as well as the majority of Arab countries supported the Iraqi opposition, and there was a country, France, which adopted presenting the project to the Security Council, which it will not do regarding Rojava, for many reasons, the first of which is that it knows that the project will clash with the Russian and Chinese vetoes alike. This is from a legal point of view.

And he continued, "But from practical step, both Russia and America, due to their military presence on Syrian territory, can impose a ban on any aircraft approaching the region, and they do so in the areas of interest to them, especially America, which prevents Syrian military aircraft from approaching its areas of presence and otherwise turns a blind eye, about killing and intimidating civilians by Turkish drones without preventing them, and Russia is also doing the American action in order to match their interests in the relationship with the Turkish occupier. Therefore, I do not think that any no- fly zone will be imposed even if the population of northeastern Syria is exterminated."
