Notables Body confirms unity to repel Turkish genocide

Notables Body in NE Syria confirms the unity to repel the Turkish genocide attacks on the region, noting the importance of fostering a political solution which guarantees the unity and safety of Syria's land and people.

On Wednesday, the Notables Body of North and East Syria issued a statement to the public opinion, which was read by the committee member, Alaeddin Sheikh Ahmed, in front of its headquarters in the city of Qamishlo.

The statement stated: The Turkish state is trying to exploit the Russian-Ukrainian war in order to control the areas of NE Syria and restoring the glories of the Ottoman Empire, and undermining security and stability in NE Syria.

The statement explained that the genocidal policies and colonial schemes on NE Syria called for action by the clans which expelled the former occupier from Syrian territory.

The statement appealed to “the United Nations and the guarantor states America and Russia, civil society institutions, and international, humanitarian and human rights organizations to support the Syrian people in the face of Turkish threats.
