Turkish state constantly repeats the phrase “a safe area,” but the country that began occupying Syrian territory since August 2016 has proven that the safety is absent everywhere Turkish soldiers and its mercenaries attend.

Since 2019, "Serê Kaniyê and Girê Spî / Tal Abyad" have turned into centers for the spread of mercenaries, in contrast to what is called the "safe zone", according to the statistics of local and international human rights and official bodies working in the field of human rights.

Forced displacement and demographic change

A statistic for a human rights organization, the Synergy Association for Victims, indicates that the attacks of the Turkish occupation state, which were launched during its occupation of the cities of "Serê Kaniyê and Girê Spî / Tal Abyad", displaced 175,000 people, the majority of whom live today in displacement camps in NE Syria. The statistics of the same organization shows that the occupation has greatly affected the demographics of the region, for the Kurds, who made up the majority of the population, only 60 Kurds are there now, and15 people of Christians.With the start of its occupation of the Serêkaniyê area, the Turkish occupation state settled thousands of families of its mercenaries in the homes of the displaced, in addition to settling the families of ISIS mercenaries in those cities.

Daily crimes behind scenes of the "safe zone".

According to the association "433 people were arbitrarily arrested, while 120 people are still missing today." ANHA documented the Turkish crimes against the abductees, during an exclusive interview with a survivor from Turkish prisons.

She continued, "The ISIS women were of different nationalities, Japanese, Russian, Chechen, Korean and Turkish. I learned that they had been smuggled from the al-Hol camp by a fuel tanker to the city of Girê Spi, to cross into Turkish territory through the border gate."

In a related context, one of the leaders of ISIS mercenaries, who is responsible for the scheme to storm the industrial prison in Hasaka, was arrested by the Syrian Democratic Forces on December 25, 2021, also confirmed, during the investigations and the video footage published by SDF, that the weapons that they got it and arrived from the areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries.

In a phone call, the official of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Serekaniye Displaced Committee, Joan Esau, told ANHA, "Since Turkey and its mercenaries occupied the city of Serekaniye, there have been daily violations and abuses against the residents, in addition to clashes and disputes between the gangs which negatively affect the entire region and lead to the displacement of the people.

Esau explained that "the region has become hotbed of ​​internal conflicts between mercenaries and political currents, which is evident through the increase in killings and kidnappings, according to human rights statistics and reports issued by official and human rights organizations.
