Manbij clans confirm their rejection of Turkish threats

In light of the escalating Turkish threats to invade areas in north and east Syria, the tribes of Manbij and its countryside met to talk about the changes that the Syrian arena is witnessing recently.

This meeting is the second of its kind in less than a week, as Manbij witnessed a meeting of clans with the Syrian Democratic Council on June 6^th, in which the Turkish threats to the region and the recent military escalation on the fronts were discussed.

Today's meeting was attended by dozens of sheikhs and notables of the Damlakha clans, Bani Al-Aseedi, Al-Bu Sultan, Bani Saeed, Al-Bobana, and notables of the Turkmen clans, in addition to the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Manbij administration, Mohammad Khair Sheikho, and the co-chair of the Legislative Council of the Manbij administration, Mohammad Ali al-Abo.

Mohammad Ali al-Abo, who opened the meeting with a speech in which he welcomed the attendees, spoke about the region's passage of a third world war, with Syria at its nucleus, on which all the forces involved in this war are located, led by America and Russia.

He pointed to the impact of the Ukrainian-Russian war on north and east Syria, and Turkey's exploitation of this war, which turned into a "quagmire for Russia due to Western support and Ukrainian resistance to carry out a new military operation in north and east Syria."

The co-chair of the Legislative Council in Manbij affirmed that all Syrians rejected the Turkish threats, as demonstrated by the recent demonstrations in all Syrian regions.

A firm position for the clans

Khaled al-Ajour, a notable of the Al-Bobana clan, stressed in an intervention during the meeting the need for the clans to come out to reject war and occupation and demand peace.

He added: "We are against war, for the Syrian people have been for 10 years; the jailer is Syrian, the prisoner is Syrian, the killer is Syrian, and the murdered is Syrian. Today the people will stand against any occupation, especially the clans."

Al-Ajour stressed the need for there to be an effective role for the clans; Because the society in Manbij is clan-based, and the duty is to march against the war and occupation.”

As for Ibrahim Shalash, one of the notables of the Bani Saeed clan, he said, "Manbij is one clan, one hand, and one heart," and stressed the need to demonstrate in Manbij; To show the Manbij clans to the world that they are against occupation and war.

He added: "Our areas in Jarablus, Al-Bab, Azaz and Afrin, and our uncles there are occupiers, so we must raise our voice today against the occupation."

These clan movements come; To clarify the popular rejection of Turkish threats towards north and east Syria, especially in Manbij.

The clans are scheduled to issue a statement at the conclusion of their meeting.
