Human Rights Organization calls for the protection of children from Turkish occupation crimes

In a statement, the Human Rights Organization of Jazira region called for the protection of children from the crimes of the Turkish occupation, and stressed that the lack of international accountability doubled the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state against children, and called for an end to the suffering of the Syrian people and children.

Dozens of the children of the martyrs and members of the human rights organization for the Jazira region gathered in front of the building of the United Nations High Commission in the city of Qamishlo, to make a statement to public opinion on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of War, which falls on June 4.

They raised placards that read, "Stop the wars," "We want to live in peace," "I miss my father the martyr," and "I miss my home in Afrin and Serêkaniyê/ Ras al-Ain." The statement was read in Arabic by the administrator of the human rights organization of Jazira region, Avin Juma.

The absence of accountability increased Turkey's crimes

The statement criticized the lack of international accountability, which led to the multiplication of crimes committed by the Turkish occupying state against children, and continued, "This is what we have witnessed from the Turkish state and the armed Syrian opposition factions since the Euphrates Shield, Peace Spring and Olive Branch operations, where they committed atrocities in those areas after the displacement of their people and the effect of change Its demographic, unfortunately, comes from the lack of international accountability for all the international crimes that the Turkish state has committed and is committing in public international law, especially against the child, and the grief that comes from the accumulation of catastrophic consequences resulting from the international crimes committed by the Turkish state against children.

The statement warned that any new Turkish attack on the region would lead to more crimes, and questioned the reasons for the absence of an official international role in these crimes, and between "the Turkish state is still continuing its aggression in north and east Syria and its threat to occupy new parts in these areas."
