​​​​​​​Arab notables: Turkish settlement project breach of Syrian sovereignty

Early in May Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country would return more than a million Syrian refugees living in Turkey to occupied areas in northern Syria. Those are supposed to be settled in Jarablus, Azaz, Bab, Afrin, Sere Kaniye and Gire Spi.

The project by the Turkish president imply demographic change the matter that received much condemnation and denunciation.

On the issue ANHA met notable of the Jubur Arab clan in the city of Hasaka Mohamed Barak who said: settling more than a million Syrian refugees is a settlement project by the Turkish occupation state and supported by Qatar and Kuwait to bring demographic change and is a breach of the Syrian sovereignty. 

Barak rejected, as many others, the project to settle more than a million Syrian refugees in northern Syria, ''Syrian makes up a mosaic by its various ethnicities, cultures and religions. There are Kurds, Syriacs, Arabs and many others that all reject the project proper. ''

Barak indicated to the repercussions implied in the settlement project on the peoples living in the region more notably the Arab component, ''the Turkish occupation state uses mercenaries to carry out its project. The application of this project is an offense to all Arab countries''.

The ARASB League expressed its rejection of the project embraced by the Turkish occupation state in a speech made by Husam Zaki Secretary General in the Sixth Brussels Conference to Support Syria. However, nothing was taken against Qatar or Kuwait that finance those projects in NES.

Barak attributes the increase in Turkish crimes to the inaction by the Arab League in carrying out its missions, ''the Arab League ought to recall the Turkish ambassadors in all Arab countries to convey a clear message on the rejection to the project''.

Mohamed Barak affirmed that the inherent rejection of the Arab League is not enough, rather serious steps ought to be taken in the face of such settlements that pose grave threats and contributes to untie the social fabric of communities''.

From his part, Sheikh of the Ubaid clan Saleh Ubaidi rejected the settlement project embraced by the Turkish occupation state on the Syrian lands, '' we do not accept such a settlement project on our lands, we reject partition of our lands based on Turkish projects''.

Ubaidi lashed out at the stances adopted by the Arab countries towards the beaches and violations of the Syrian lands and the absence of real and serious positions towards the policy of the Turkish occupation state calling on the Arab League to reject the project completely and to intervene to deter such settlement being built and to terminate the Turkish occupation of Syrian lands.

The Ubaid Sheikh affirmed that projects of the Turkish occupation state and specifically settlements building have grave dangers and threats to the whole region and it imply grave repercussions to the neighboring countries too.
