PYD congress in Europe our priority is to liberate occupied areas

On Monday, the official website of the Democratic Union Party PYD published the final communiqué of the party's 11th Congress in Europe.

It reads as follows:

Under the slogan "In the spirit of the Rojava Revolution, we organize ourselves and preserve our existence", our PYD party in Europe held its eleventh conference with 250 delegates from party organizations in Europe on 7-8 May 2022, in the presence of a group of representatives of Kurdish and Syrian parties in Europe. This conference comes after the breakout of COVID-19 crisis and general lockdown policies in Europe obstructed many of the party's activities, and it coincides with delicate international conditions where the world is in crisis and chaos in the midst of a third world war unlike its predecessors, which began a quarter of a century ago and is based in its depth on capitalist interests among the poles of the great Powers. In view of the continued policy of denial and dissociation from the regime's reality in Damascus and the continuing war crimes and violations committed by the Turkish occupying state and its mercenaries in Afrin, Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî the Turkish occupying state is taking advantage of the international crisis posed by the Russian-Ukrainian war to pass its agendas by intensifying its aggression against our people in Rojava and Southern Kurdistan, which the freedom fighters of the Kurdistan mountains are tackling with historic resistance.

In the light of the grave dangers and the globally sensitive political phase, which casts a shadow over the Middle East, and Rojav,  our party, the PYD Democratic Union Party in Europe, held its conference with an agenda aimed at escalating and activating partisan action among the Kurdish community, which was compelled by numerous circumstances to head to Europe and the imperatives of organizing our people politically and socially and to keep our party founded on the popular legitimacy and the sacrifice of their martyrs in serving their peoples .

After extensive discussions, the Congress came up with important decisions that would contribute to the activation of the party's activities in Europe to rebuild the organization and its momentum by fighting all concepts that contradict the ideology of the party and combating individuality, selfishness, authoritarianism and working in the spirit of the team and party institution based on mechanisms and regulations, The resolutions additionally addressed women's organization and ways of intellectual development for women to play their leading role socially and politically resolutions included diplomatic work to reach the decision centres in Europe to convey the voice of our people and raise hot topics affecting Rojava and the Autonomous Administration (AANESA) to internationalize pressing files. The resolutions also dealt with media work, youth, culture and art. The Conference also emphasized the need to ensure that Afrin, Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî and the rest of the occupied areas have priority in the struggle in parallel with the struggle to democratize new, free Syria and decentralized Syria that all Syrians live in

Our conference concluded with the election of a new active management of the Party in Europe composed of 39 comrades comprising women, youth, media, culture, art and other sectors of our Party that will be able at this sensitive stage in which our people are going through to meet the merits of the Rojava Revolution and the sacrifices of the martyrs and for the PYD party in Europe to be able to lead the stage diplomatically and politically in European arenas, Let us be able to organize our people in Europe and step up our organizational work among the Kurdish community.”
