Since both Sere Kaniye and Tal Abyad were occupied by the Turkish occupation army on 9 October 2019 the Zarghan district and its villages of Asadiye, Hermela, Tal Amir, Mazre, Tal Werd and Dad 'Ebda undergo shelling from Turkish military bases based in ther villages of Dawudiye and Bab Khair.

Turkish forces shelling cause material damages and claim lives of peoples. The Peopels' House in the district underwent shelling six times.

In an interview with ANHA Shirine Mi'o, Co-chair of the Zarghan Council of the Hasaka said Turkish occupation forces aim to deport all peoples of the region from their homes and lands.

On the topic and the daily bases shelling and bombardment by the Turkish occupation state and the mercenary groups on Zarghan district and the region as a whole Shirine said:

''the aim of shelling by the Turkish occupation state of educational, and service facilities is to deport its people and occupy the region. Shirine said these facilities undergo daily and constant shelling.

Shirine noted that the continuation of rendering civil service to people in the district by personnel and employees is a reply to that shelling to abort the Turkish schemes and plots.

Targeting educational and service facilities is a flagrant breach of the human laws in wars and conflicts and amount to war crimes according to the Rome Convention derived from the Geneva Convention of 1949.
