Afrin Yazidis decry PDK participation in attacks against Kurds

Dozens of members of the Yezidi Union of Afrin, members of the Yezidi Women's Union of Rojava and representatives of political parties gathered in front of the Union Center located in the Al-Ahdath district in al-Shahba canton, to make a statement.

The statement was read in Arabic by the co-chair of the Yezidi Union of Afrin, Hussein Hassan, and in Kurdish by a member of the Yezidi Women's Union of Rojava Arksin Marko, and it said:

"In a flagrant defiance of all human values ​​and international charters and covenants, and despite a series of failures that the Turkish army suffered in its attacks on legitimate defense areas, and despite its use of all kinds of conventional weapons (air and land) and internationally prohibited weapons, Turkey has only achieved more coffins for the bodies of its soldiers. They hide their numbers from the Turkish people."

The statement continued, "In order to save face, the Turkish army announced annihilation attacks on the legitimate defense areas with the aim of controlling Qandil and Shengal; to encircle the Syrian Democratic Forces, and to achieve Erdogan's dream, he summoned Masrour Barzani to Ankara to obtain from him the cooperation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party with him, and the cooperation of the Al-Kazemi government in an attempt from him to encircle Shengal, to appear before the Turkish people as a national hero, and thus re-elect him again.”

The statement added, "The betrayal of the Kurdistan Democratic Party was clearly demonstrated in the person of the region's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, who was summoned by Erdogan to Ankara to take from him his approval for the Turkish attack and cooperation with the invading army, and Turkish Minister of War Hulusi Akar was clear when he said: This operation is being carried out in coordination and cooperation with friends and allies of Turkey in the region.

In conjunction with the Turkish attack, the Baghdad government, in coordination with the regional government KRG, is continuing to build the wall of shame to separate Shengal from the world and reoccupy it.

The statement stressed, "We in the Yezidi Union of Afrin and from the al-Shahba camps, denounce the tripartite attack (the Turkish army, the army of the Baghdad government and the PDK forces) on the legitimate defense areas and Shengal, and we call on the Barzani family not to help the Turkish army in its attack on Guerilla, and to prevail the supreme Kurdish interest over their interests. narrow personal and partisan, and let them know that they will be the next target if the Turks dream of eliminating the PKK is fulfilled, and to remember Erdogan’s words when Massoud Barzani wanted to hold a referendum for the independence of the region, where he said: Massoud Barzani is just a clan chief, and let everyone knows that Guerilla is a commanding force for the Kurds, and there is no force that can defeat it, because it represents the conscience of the Kurdish people, and this people stands with it and supports it.”
