A source from the occupied Afrin canton reported that the "Al-Sham Legion" mercenaries had kidnapped two children from the village of Ghazawiya in the Sherawa district, with the aim of getting a ransom from their families.

According to the source, the two children are (Zainab Ali Khalil, 7 years old, and Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim, 9 years old), and he added that the kidnapping took place on 27-3 2022, and the fate of the two children is still unknown.

Through these crimes, Turkey and its mercenaries are seeking to displace the remaining Kurds in the canton of Afrin, which has been occupied since March 18, 2018.

The proportion of Kurds before the Turkish occupation was close to 95 percent of the total population of the canton, but that percentage has declined to about 23 percent, according to human rights organizations documenting the crimes of the Turkish occupation state in Afrin canton.
