The Deputy co-chairmanship of the Executive Council in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hassan Koçer, explained in statement to ANHA’s agency, saying” Newroz celebration is very important because it is related  with the physical freedom of the democratic nation leader Abdullah Ocalan, adding” 24 years and the leader is suffering from severe isolation, exposed to psychological torture, 24 years passed, and the leader is fighting and fighting relentlessly in the prison of Imrali."

The people said: "We will not be satisfied with slavery."

Hassan Koçer explained that joining this year's Newroz celebrations in the north and east of Syria, Kurdistan and the world was remarkable, and affirmed that everyone expressed their position throughout the world. It states: "We are a people who will not be satisfied with slavery. People possess will, nationalism and culture and possess order and organization. Hassan Koçer confirmed all the spectra of the North and East Syria have celebrated in Newroz 2022 with love and brotherhood, on the democratic nation principles that put forward by the leader in Imrali Prison, saying "The year of Newroz 2022 I salute with high spirits and resistance, and with broad public participation, and this is evidence of solidarity and cohesion among all components of the region." Noting that Newroz is a national event for the Kurdish people to make them feel their nationalism, history and culture.

Hassan Koçer explained that thwarting the attacks of the Turkish occupation state gave the people of the region high morale, and said: "Turkey, through its attacks, sought to undermine the will of the people, imposed severe isolation on the leader Ocalan in Imrali and prevented his lawyer and family from meeting him, and launched attacks on the fighters of the People’s Defense Forces (Guerilla). However, it did not achieve any result, as Turkey said that it would eradicate the Kurds, but Newroz 2022 proved that the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region cannot be eradicated.

What did Newroz 1973 happen?

Hassan Koçer referred to the Newroz slogan in 2022, noting that it came from Imrali resistance, and said: "If the leader of a people resists, the people will continue to resist even if they are annihilated. Fifty years ago, the flame of Newroz was lit, and great developments took place; it can be summarized that the Kurd was ashamed to say previously that I am a Kurd, he did not know his history and culture, everyone was attacking him and he did not have a defense system, it was forbidden to mention the names of the Kurds and Kurdistan, and if he mentioned them, the person would either be arrested or killed. A new revival of society, and the will of the Kurdish people reappeared, and the people said their word: No matter how much you deny us, we are now possessing will and defense force, and we understand politics, history and culture, and we have a patriotic spirit, and no one will be able to deny this thing anymore.

He went on to say “what had been achieved against ISIS, when all world’s armies neglected to repel of these attacks, but the brave resistance of (YPG, YPJ, SDF) had proved a great humanitarian resistance on behalf of the entire world, and this resistance came from the spirit of Imrali, from the spirit of the philosophy of the democratic nation, and this resistance of the Kurdish people and the people of the region has made a place in the whole world when we say the name of the Kurd, all say, they fought ISIS, they fought terrorism, they fought for humanity, they didn't come from the futility of the 50 years of resistance that we're talking about, from philosophy and thought, the Kurdish people form a white board in the international community wall.

Diplomacy in the Middle East requires strength

Hassan Koçer stressed the need for the people to realize that the People’s Revolutionary War is the basis for survival, and said: “Diplomacy in the Middle East requires strength, so it must possess organizational, military and political power. Reality in the Middle East depends on strength." He added, "Our diplomacy developed after the victory of Kobani because we defeated ISIS, and we continued that until the liberation of Baghouz, which is a victory for all peoples."

Deputy co-chairmanship of the Executive Council in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hassan Koçer confirmed that a society that organizes itself politically, militarily and socially has the right to live freely.
