On the 11 th anniversary of the Syrian Revolution, Syria's Democratic Council, the SDC, issued a statement which runs:

''the popular movements  in Syria in the middle of March 2011 was preceded by long years of struggle and oppression in which Syrians were subject to torture and plights due to the inhumane policies adopted by the regime during decades. Those tyrant policies that turned fighters into inmates inside prisons  and detentions infamous for evil kinds of torture and repression.

The authority in Damascus is responsible for the plight that seeps the country. And it is the sole responsible part for the murders, destruction, displacement and liquidations in jails and those displaced forcibly. All bids were rejected that led to the internationalization of the crisis making Syria is state deprived of sovereignty and an occupied one whose lands is mortgaged to regional and global powers.

SDF confirms its pledge to defend the demands of martyrs of freedom and dignity and sees that there is no solution in Syria without a political transition to achieve a democratic, plural and decentralized state in a constitution that guarantees the rights of all components and ethnicities politically, socially, economically and culturally without any prejudice.

SDF calls on the international community to support the democratic and national truck for it is the sole means to save the country and preserve peace and security.''
