Kurdish detainee Mehmet Hanifi Belkin, imprisoned in the closed maximum security prison of Bolu, lost his life.  The prison administration, which contacted the Belkin family, claimed that "he lost his life due to a heart attack".  The body of the murdered Belkin was taken to the Forensic Medical Institution in Ankara for autopsy.

His family came to Ankara to receive his body.  Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) parliamentarian Gülük Erdal Aydemir and lawyer for the Ankara branch of the Jurists for Freedom, Kenan Magoglü, also visited the Forensic Medicine Foundation.

The autopsy of Belkin's body continues at the Forensic Institute of Ankara.  It was announced that Belkin's body would be transferred to his city after the autopsy was completed.

It is worth noting that there are only five months left for Belkin to be released, whose registry entry goes back to the Keng district of Golk.  It also emerged that Belkin, who had been imprisoned for 29.5 years, had suffered a heart attack three years earlier.
