Hasso: Organizing people is strength of our party; AA's project is essential in solving Syrian crisis

On Monday, October 20^th, marks the 18th anniversary of the Democratic Union Party, that has great influence in establishing AANES' project and emanating democratic nation philosophy.

On this occasion, ANHA held a lengthy dialogue, co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, PYD, Aisha Hasso, which reads as follows:

At the outset of the Syrian revolution, you were the first party among the parties that took to the streets, supported the the revolution and started to organize the society, what experiences did you go through until you took this step, and what was the inheritance that you relied on for that?

First of all, we congratulate the 18^th anniversary of the PYD, the party of martyrs built on the foundations of struggle and resistance over the years. We also congratulate the leader, members of the party and supporters. We also recall all our martyrs and we owe to the sacrifices they have made.

We all know that the Syrian crisis in the Middle East has not come out of nowhere. We, as a party founded since 2003, are founded on the legacy and struggle of leader Abdullah Ocalan, along with the ideas of the democratic nation, which we considered to be the perfect solution to the solution not only of the problems of the Syrian homeland, but of the entire Middle East and the world.

With the beginning of 2011 year, we witnessed many events in many countries like, Egypt and Libya of what being appeared in general, we had convinced as party that all the regimes lost the organization that is considered the key to consolidate on the basis the thought and philosophy that has project, and our project was announced in period time; we mean AANES project and democratic nation.

It is on this basis that we look forward to the future and that we have embarked on the road to the street and the organization of our people. We must be able to make progress in following the third line of the Syrian crisis. We are confident and convinced that 2011 has been a year of achievements for us during the Syrian crisis. We have taken the necessary measures to spare our people the scourge of that crisis.

Your party put forward AANES' project. Why is ANNES the only form of administration and what does it achieve for the Kurdish people under the promotion of some parties as a project that does not serve the Kurd?

Who dares to say that the AANES' project is not in the service of the Kurdish cause, can describe it as the fact that it has been withheld, because we all know that the AANES' project when we knew it is particularly us as a party in Rojavayê Kurdistanê and the whole of NE, Syria as a constant project that continues to work and give.

The outstanding problem in Syria could be solved only through the implementation of the AANES' project, which could be described as a key that would remove obstacles and solve the Kurdish issue.

The question is how you can secure the rights of the Kurdish people and preserve other peoples' rights under Mosaic's presence of components in Syria, without owning a project.

For that ideal project to resolve this crisis lies in the implementation of our project, which is considered the savior of all peoples, because we are not the only ones in Syria who have been persecuted by the Ba’ath, who abused the creation of rifts between peoples and removed them from their true essence, and even removed some of them from their lands.

The truth of how we can come out with a correct moral and political society that takes morality as its slogan, without implementing the AANES, and how this project does not enter into the service of solving the Kurdish issue while it takes the solution of nations’ issues as its slogan.

So authoritarian, tyrannical and nationalist regimes are based on the principle of one language and one race, and the response here was the proposal of the AANES' project, which we presented to the rest of the parties and movements of all components, and they find salvation through this project, so they do not accept the occupation or the current crisis.

Why did you choose the third line during the revolution?

When we talk about choosing the third line as the Democratic Union Party, we can describe the third line as the line of preserving patriotism, and the line of working to resolve the current crisis, and not fall under the influence of parties that want to further militate in the country, and work to waste and hide the solution.
If we speak of the current opposition in all its names and forms, it is subject to the agendas of the Turkish state as dominoes by supporting the implementation of the Misak-ı Millî for the restoration the glorifies of the Ottoman Empire. That opposition has been involved in occupying large parts of the Syrian lands from Jarablous reaching to Afrin and Idlib, and we shoud not forget Tal-Abyed and Ras-Al-Ain and changing the demographics of the region and in spreading the policy of Turkification, even legitimizing its existence and its annexation of Syrian territory.

The other side is the Government of Damascus, which has taken care of the issue of resolving the Syrian crisis. It has been an arrogant attempt to impose conditions.

At the beginning of the Syrian crisis, some parties called us separatists and that we wanted a project aimed at secession, while others accused us of working for the Damascus Government, for that we say: In the current situation after the agreement concluded between Turkey, Iran and Russia and the disclosure of the outcomes of Sochi and Astana, and despite the many contradictions that occurred Between them, however, when the issue becomes related to the Kurds or AANES, they agree

I also confirm that our project is against the division of Syrian lands and we are working to protect the unity of these lands, and we fought ISIS and its supporters, and we have defeated it, and the global fear of ISIS has been ended thanks to the sacrifices of the Autonomous Administration and its fighters from the Women's and People’s Protection Units, YPJ, YPJ the Syrian Democratic Forces, SDF that represent us.

Your party was racing in community organizing. But there is criticism from the Kurdish street that the PYD - despite the right circumstances - has not been able to reach out to all segments of society? What are the reasons and how should it manage these mistakes?

After our eighth conference, many firm decisions were taken regarding the organizational situation in all regions, and we, as a Syrian party, have activities in this context.

We have a party that works tirelessly to serve the Kurdish cause, and we have a Syrian party whose principles we are working, and we can also point out that from the beginning of the Syrian crisis to the present day, we live in a homeland that is being eroded by war. In this country we must consolidate our time to protect our regions from the brutal attacks.
We all know that our entire territory is in danger of being targeted by Turkey, which is constantly attacking us. At another time, we have been fighting ISIS. Life within the war category is difficult, which made our work insufficient at the required level.
As I mentioned earlier, the Eighth Congress of the League of Arab States has taken many decisions that will enable us to correct mistakes and reach out to all segments of society. We now embrace all representatives of the Arab, Syrian, Ashur, Kurd and other components of the decision-making body.

How do you see the activity of the party at the present time and its organization, and what are your observations on its work, and how should its cadres who are involved in the ranks of society move?

As a party, we continue to hold meetings and give instructions to develop the party, and we also discuss mistakes and find solutions to them, but in 2021 we all know the emergence of the COVID 19 and limit our movements, but rather all the movements of life forms.

But in spite of that, we have carried out the work entrusted to us and laid out in our plan, so that we can develop our work in 2022.

I am confident that our people are following the current events, including the holding of conferences in Europe for expatriates, and we are on a daily basis to provide the best for our people.
