Self-Defense fighters: Defense is national and moral duty, young men must join forces

Male and female fighters in the Duty of Self-Defense said that their tasks lie in protecting the security of the region from external threats, stressed that they are ready to respond to the sources of threat, and urged the young men and women of the region to join Self-Defense as a moral patriotic duty.

In light of the recent escalation of the Turkish occupation on the areas of north and east Syria, the occupation state placed its greatest weight on the special war in a systematic manner and conducted it on the people with extreme precision, with the aim of destabilizing security and stability, as well as emptying the region of its residents.

While the political and cultural circles called on the people to rely on their own capabilities, and they called on young men and women to join the Duty of Self-Defense, which was established in 2014, as a national, humanitarian and moral duty rests with every individual.

A war aimed at emptying the region of its inhabitants

In this context, Commander of the Border Guard Brigade for Self-Defense Duty, Ibrahim Shawish, saw that "a large part of the military escalation in the region falls under the heading of psychological warfare against the people with the aim of sowing fear and terror among them and displacing them from their homes." He continued, "The occupation state is exploiting the circumstances to form sleeper cells in the region to undermine security."

The Self-Defense Duty has a major role in confronting the private war and warning the people against being drawn into rumors and allegations launched by Turkey with the aim of creating confusio, according to Commander Ibrahim Shawish.

Self-protection is the basic force of society and protects its pillars, regardless of the individual's ethnic, national, linguistic and political affiliations. Therefore, authoritarian regimes consider it a threat to its pillars, and they try by various means to eliminate the concept of self-protection to weaken and control the power of society.

Joining together is a way to face difficulties

On the people's role in facing challenges, Ibrahim Shawish explained that the people must unite and reinforce the principle of peoples' fraternity to thwart Turkey’s plans to empty the region of its residents, and said, "We are in the center of a pool of blood. We must protect ourselves, and unify views towards the foreign policies aimed at creating discord among the components of the region."

In his speech, Shawish stressed the importance of the Duty of Self-Defense which is the duty of every citizen, noting, "The region is subjected to various attacks from all sides. It is time to repel them with its people's arms."

At the conclusion of the conversation, Commander of the Border Guard Brigade for the Duty of Self-Defense, Ibrahim Shawish, affirmed that they are keeping the pledge they made to protect "the region's security from the enemies' traps."

As for the fighter within the Self-Defense Forces, Berivan Ahmed, she confirmed that the attacks of the Turkish occupation on the region aim to occupy other areas of north and east Syria."

Concerning her joining the Self-Defense, Berivan said, "Let us support the People's Protection Units, Women's Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces in the face of all threats. We seek to liberate the entire lands under the yoke of occupation," indicating that self-defense is a duty for women as well."

Berivan added, "Self-defense is not a duty related to men only, but it is a duty of every citizen who lives on their land."

Women have a remarkable presence in Self-Defense

Commander in the Martyr Ayaz Brigade in the Self-Defense Forces, Nizar Ahmed Al-Taan, touched on popular solidarity which the region is characterized of, saying, "Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, all components of the region; Kurds, Arabs, Circassians, Assyrians and Syriacs have been affirming their participation in confronting all threats, as they have a strong brotherly relationship which no external party can distort."

Al-Taan called on young men and women in north and east Syria to take the initiative to join the Duty of Self-Defense to protect the region and its residents from the attacks and threats it faces from time to time.

In his speech, Al-Taan directed a massage to the countries supporting the Turkish occupation, saying, "We are ready to confront attacks, and in a state of full readiness to respond to them if necessary."

To build a free Kurdistan and a democratic Syria

In the same context, Nermin Remo called on young men and women in north and east Syria to join the Duty of Self-Defense in order to defend the region and repel enemy attacks that target the people's will in particular. She also called on the region's components to reinforce the people's fraternity principle and confront challenges and difficulties that the region is going through for the sake of building a free Kurdistan and a democratic Syria.
