Over the past two days, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries have violently targeted, with heavy weapons, the inhabited villages (Laqlaqo, Zunbia, Arida, Sawan, Bir Zinar, Khirbet Baqar, Kijgran, Salibi, Korek), and used mortar shells, heavy artillery, missile launchers and tanks.

As a result, the lives of thousands of civilians in the villages of the western countryside of the occupied city of Girê Spî / Tel Abyad are at risk. In the last shelling two days ago, the 17-year-old child Muhammad Ibrahim from Sawan village was wounded as a result of the shelling, and the properties and homes of civilians were severely damaged.

With the continuous shelling and attacks on the western and southern countryside of the city of Girê Spi / Tal Abyad, Ain Issa district and the international road, Turkey is violating the terms of the Sochi Agreement it reached with Russia on October 22, 2019, which stipulated 10 items, including the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces 30 km from the Turkish-Syrian border, and a ceasefire.

During the shelling that hit the village of Kijjar, 30 km southwest of Gire Spi, the villagers found an unexploded Turkish tank shell, which is considered another threat to the lives of civilians.

On the 27th of November of last year, the two children Obaid Ismail Al-Ahmad (16 years old) and Muhammad Ali Ahmed (18 years old) lost their lives, while two others were seriously injured, as a result of the explosion of an artillery shell from the remnants of the Turkish bombardment near the village of Abu Surra Ali International road.

In this context, Fatima Othman from the village of Kijkran said that the Turkish occupation launched a heavy bombardment yesterday with heavy weapons on their village and the nearby villages that are inhabited by them, and that one of the shells fell next to their house among the olive trees, but it did not explode, and fell next to the road leading to the village, the shell has not exploded so far.

Fatima denounced the attacks of the Turkish occupation seeking to displace them from their villages, stressing that they will raise the pace of their resistance against the attacks and policies of the Turkish occupation and stay on their land and not leave their villages to aggression, and support their forces that protect their land and honor and stand by them in the face of Turkish attacks.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries forced the residents of the village of Nasiriyah near the town of Shirkrak in the Ain Issa district in the Girê Spi canton to forcibly leave the village and emptied it, to take it as their stronghold, which is part of the policy of demographic change that it follows in the areas it occupied.

The Turkish occupation state continues to build military bases along the international road and on the lines of contact on the western side of the city of Girê Spi, and reinforcements continue to flow to those bases.
