This came in a statement issued to the public by the Nowruz Social Cultural Association and the Star Congress in Lebanon.

The statement was read by Fatima Sheikhmus in the presence of dozens of members, and it said:

“The occupant Turkish state has launched its barbaric and brutal attack on the Kurdistan Region and Iraq with all its armor, army and equipment since April 23. These violations of the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Region are recognized by the United Nations organizations and all countries. The Turkish state is evacuating villages and areas of their original inhabitants, subjecting nature and areas to violations and burning forests and destroying farms, orchards and crops of villagers

What the Turkish state is doing is a flagrant and unacceptable violation, whether on the legal, moral or humanitarian level, as it deliberately targets civilians by bombing it from the air, sowing fear and terror in their hearts, killing and wounding many of them.

In addition, it started its threats again to the refugees in Makhmour camp and threatens to bomb them just as it did before when it caused the killing of many innocent civilians inside the camp under the pretext of fighting the PDF.

We, on behalf of the Nowruz Social Cultural Association and Star Congress in Lebanon, condemn and denounce these attacks, and stress the need for an immediate cessation of these attacks and for Turkey to withdraw its forces from areas of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, which contravene international norms and covenants.

We also hope that the Kurdistan Regional Government will take a position full of honor and dignity. Today, we are in dire need of uniting the Kurdish ranks to face the dangers to which Kurdistan in its four parts are exposed. We also call on the United Nations, the European Union, human rights organizations and democratic forces to work hard to prevent genocide and put an end to the crimes of the Turkish occupation."
