The Turkish state continues its wars against the peoples of the region, especially the special war that we witness now, which is manifested by withholding water resources from the region and the population for nearly 6 months, to try with these violations to implement its tyrannical plans and fascist methods on the regions of North and East Syria.

In recent days, there have been cases of poisoning among the residents of Tabqa city due to contaminated drinking water as a result of stagnant water in the Euphrates River.

In this context, Abdullah Al-Mabrouk, the pharmacist at Tabqa National Hospital, spoke to our agency saying "The National Hospital receives daily more than 50 cases of poisoning with contaminated water, such as acute diarrhea and intestinal infections."

Abdullah Al-Mabrouk pointed to the spread of many germs, viruses and bacteria, causing future effects on the population, such as cases of schistosomiasis, typhoid fever and hepatitis, in addition to the increased concentration of minerals in the water, which leads to cancerous and skin diseases.

The emergency solution for users of drinking water extracted from the river without sterilization is to boil the water before drinking, in addition to using medical chlorine sold in pharmacies.

At the end of his speech, Al-Mabrouk appealed to the international community to put pressure on the Turkish state to open the waters of the Euphrates River to stop water pollution, as it is the only source that the people depend on for drinking in the region.
