SDF announces completion security reform process in ISIS' detention centers

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that it had completed the security and technical reforms and health measures it had launched in prisons that house ISIS detainees, confirming that during these operations it had revealed holes in the walls and some sharp tools with the detainees, and took the necessary measures towards them.

This came through a statement issued by the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces, in which it said:

"In the period between May 7 and May 12, the competent agencies, with the support of the anti-terror units of our forces and with effective support of the international coalition forces against ISIS, carried out re-organizations and a number of security reform operations in Al-Hasakah prison, which houses a large number of ISIS detainees.

The relevant organs and our units inspected the building of the prison, re-organized the records of detainees, as well as reformed security technologies within the dormitories, and took more appropriate security measures.

As part of the health measures to combat the Corona virus, the medical teams of our forces examined the detainees' health, detected the diseases they are suffering from and provided the necessary treatments, as well as carried out a wide sterilization campaign in the prison barracks.

Our units have successfully completed their operations. In parallel, our units were able to find out openings in the dormitories that connect the dormitories of ISIS mercenaries with those in which the cubs of the terrorist organization are being held to infiltrate and retrain them in extremist ideology, as our units have taken the necessary measures to prevent this.

We renew our call to the international community to carry out its duties towards this issue, and to form an international court to try these detainees in our areas."
