Hundreds of residents, workers, and members of institutions and committees affiliated with the administration participated in the demonstration organized by the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij and its countryside.

The demonstration started from Al-Mezan roundabout towards Amel Nazafa roundabout, marchers held the flags of the Revolutionary Youth Movement, the Women’s Council and the Future Syria Party, in addition to carrying banners reading “Let us raise the banner of victory for free women”, “Our unity is victorious ... We will resist to protect, and “No to the Turkish occupation."

Having stood a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs, the co-chair of the Workers Union in Manbij, Asia Al-Aliwi, gave a speech in which she greeted the workers for their efforts, on the occasion of their holiday on the first of May, and confirmed that "the workers are real wealth for the country, and a springboard for a better future. "

Then the co-chair of the Legislative Council for Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij, Muhammad Ali Al-Abo, gave a speech in which he spoke about Labor Day, describing it as "the revolution of dignity  which nucleus was at the end of the nineteenth century."

He added, "The revolution was against the injustice and oppression that workers were subjected to at that time, and all of this was taking place under the individual domination of capitalist regimes, and these pernicious regimes still extend their hand to all free peoples."

'Turkey practices tyranny over the peoples of the region'

Muhammad Ali Al-Abo referred to the Turkish crimes against the peoples of the region, and said: “The occupying Turkish state and its oppressive, oppressive capitalist regime that practices all violations and tyrannical practices against the peoples of the region, not only Syria, we see it extending its malignant hands with permanent violations to northern Iraq, and occupying Syrian lands and flaunts them and wanders around as if they were the property of the great Ottoman.

He pointed out that the latest Turkish crimes were the construction of settlements in Jarablus in pursuit of the demographic change that Turkey has always worked on.

‘Withholding water though brags about being a Muslim'

The co-chair of the Legislative Council in Manbij called on the Syrians to "wake up from this slumber that Erdogan placed them in, and to return to their patriotism and their Syria, to build Syria anew."

He continued his speech, saying, "He withholds water while he brags that he is a Muslim person and calls for his Islam, and we are now in the blessed month of Ramadan, and everyone knows that there are three essential things, which are fire, water and pasture, and he holds water from us."

'The international community must stand up to its moral and humanitarian responsibility'

He expressed his regret at the international silence towards the Turkish violations, and said: "Unfortunately, we say it in front of all the eyes of the international community and human rights organizations that claim humanity, in front of all this bravado and suspicious silence from the international community, we see ourselves in North and East Syria alone."

He concluded by saying, "We call on the silent international community to assume its moral and humanitarian responsibility above all, then its legal responsibility in front of these severe violations by the Turkish occupation state," the demonstration ended by chanting slogans that salute the resistance of free peoples.
