Intellectuals stress Turkey doomed to defeat in Medya

On April 24^th, an operation of ground offensive and aerial shelling was carried out by the Turkish Occupation Forces on the Medya Self –Defence Zones of Metina, Avashine and Zap and the whole surrounding areas.

As the Guerrilla Forces are repelling to occupiers and perfora historic resistance position of the Kurdistan Regional Government and international powers meet popular and social discontent.

A number of intellectuals in the Darbassiye Distrcit of Hasaka stressed that attacks carried out by the Turkish Occupation Army are doomed to failure as they condemned the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Author and member to the Darbassiye Intellectuals' Union Mohamed Saleh Ibraheem condemned the attacks carried out by the Turkish Occupation Forces on Zap, Avashine and Metina saying:'' all massacres carried out by Turkey are brought into mind via new ones as the Armenian Genocide was renewed by the attack on Zap, Avashine and Metina''.

''Turkish Occupation Forces are doomed to failure in Zap and Avashine after the crushing defeat they incurred in Haftanine and Gara at the hands of the Peoples' Defence Forces'', he said.

Ibraheem noted that Turkish Occupation Forces cannot move unless okay received from the regional and global powers to carry out such an attack, '' the attacks on Legitimate Defence Zones were okayed by America, Iraq and Southern Kurdistan''.

'' the Kurdistan Regional Government remains silent on the Turkish attacks on the Legitimate Defence Zones on it's territory for it takes orders from Turkey while the Iraqi Federal Government cites presence by the Kurdistan Workers' Party'', he added.

In turn, poet Umar Sheikhmous noted that the Turkish Occupation State seeks to repress Kurdish revolts and to deter Kurds to make gains by every possible means, '' the problem of Turkey is not to secure it's borders with Kurds as it alleges rather to tries to crush them everywhere''.

Umar indicated that the Turkish Occupation State makes advantage of the great powers in the region to perpetrate more crimes against Meddle Eastern peoples'', adding that silence preserved by international powers gives Turkey impetus to be more intransigent and criminal:'' silence of the great powers towards the Turkish Occupation attacks on Kurdish areas  encourages Turkey to act as it likes and as it's interest and extensionsit policies entail''.

'' we saw how the Turkish attacks on Sere Kaniye and Gire Spi undertaken after the U.S. troops withdrew as an indication for Turkey to undertake military operation into the region'', Umar said adding that the critical situation necessitates'' any dealing with occupying countries in Kurdistan would damage interests of the Kurdish people not to mention the Kurds' need of a unified strategy and visions that brings solution to the Kurdish Question'', he concluded.
