Last Tuesday, April 20th, the National Defense mercenaries launched an attack on the Internal Security Forces checkpoint in Al-Wehda roundabout, which resulted in the death of a member of the Internal Security Forces, after which clashes continued in Tayy neighborhood that led to driving the mercenaries out from it completely.

In appreciation of the efforts made by the Internal Security Forces, the Women’s Council in North and East Syria sent a telegram of thanks and gratitude to them.

The text of the telegram stated:

"The events created by the so-called National Defense militias on Tuesday, April 20th, which were controlling Tayy neighborhood in Qamishlo proved in their attack on the points of the Internal Security Forces "Asayish" that any attempt to destabilize the region and drag the country into a malicious strife will fail.

The treacherous attack by these militias led to the death of two Internal Security Forces' members and wounding dozens, and also led to a large displacement of civilians living in the neighborhood.

The state of brotherhood and co-existence whose roots extend deep in the history of the region is stronger than the attempts at sedition that the regime and its various arms tried to plant, and this case was exemplified by heroism, complete readiness and commitment to the moral duty with which the Internal Security Forces confronted the treacherous assault by the National Defense militias and motivated by emotion the higher responsibility towards the components and peoples of the region.

The Internal Security Forces were able to cleanse one of the authentic neighborhoods of Qamishlo, Tayy neighborhood, from the remnants of these militias. They protected civilians from the neighborhood's residents and protected their homes, property and livelihoods, so that they would return to it with grace, continue the march of brotherhood and co-existence, and reinforce civil peace in north eastern Syria, and perhaps the martyrdom of Sheikh Hayes al-Jeryan, one of the original national symbols at the hands of these treacherous militias, is a true translation of the true brotherhood that is steadfast in the face of all attempts at sedition.

We, in the Women's Council in North and East Syria, pay tribute to the Internal Security Forces, "Asayish," the watchful eye to protect the homeland, and grow in them the spirit of sacrifice, self-denial and moral discipline in dealing with events, as they presented a bright real picture of the components of north eastern Syria."
