Last Tuesday, which falls on the 14th of April, the Russian forces evacuated their sites in al-Shahba canton, but soon retreated after one day and stationed in their points without providing any explanations.

The Russian withdrawal coincided with the throwing of paper leaflets by the Turkish occupation on the Tal Rifaat area, which included threats to the people and the displaced Afrin living in that area.

The MMC's official spokesman, Aram Hanna, said that "the recent Russian withdrawal from the areas of al-Shahba and Tal Rifaat coincides with the throwing of paper leaflets bearing threats to the region's security and the safety of its people, in light of the continued closure of the crossings by the Syrian government."

He added, "All this indicate the continuation of the Russian forces' pursuit of a policy of pressure on the Autonomous Administration project, in the context of obtaining concessions."

In his speech, Hanna pointed out that: "During the year and a half of their presence in the region, we witnessed many movements of the Russian forces, including several withdrawals from their bases in Tal Tamr and Ain Issa, but soon returned, and this confirms that the Russian aim is to put pressure on our project."

The paper leaflet and the Russian withdrawal have one goal

Regarding the paper leaflets thrown by the occupation marches over the Tal Rifaat area, Hanna said: “The Russian-Turkish relationship has always been clouded by ambiguity, because several ambiguous events occurred in our region, and there might be coordination between the two sides to push the region into a worse situation. "

Our resistance was enough to thwart the occupation plots

Hanna added, "We know that the Turkish occupation aspires to occupy new areas in northeast Syria, but the resistance of our forces and the solidarity of the components, we were able to stop them in Ain Issa and Tal Tamr."

The closure of the crossings comes for the economic pressure on our regions, backed by Russia

Hanna continued his speech, saying: "The closure of the crossings between the regions of northeast Syria and the Syrian government was decided by the Russian forces, and all the pressures in the region are under Russian auspices, and all these measures are aimed at economic and political pressure on the region."
