US Deputy Special Envoy to Syria holds a meeting in Dêrik

The US Deputy special envoy to Syria, David Brownstein, met with the Council of Clans' elders and Notables and in the Eastern Province, to exchange views and discuss many political and economic matters.

The meeting was held between the US Deputy special envoy and the Council of Clans' elders and Notables to discuss developments in Syria in general and NE Syria in particular.

The Council of Clans' elders and Notables, welcomed the US envoy, and the attendees had an Iftar dinner in honor of the American representative’s visit to Dêrik and meeting with representatives of the Arab, Kurdish and Syriac tribes.

For his part, the General Coordinator of the Council of Clans' elders and Notables, Hawass Jadei, welcomed the attendees and said: "We are part of the NE regions of Syria and suffer from daily attacks and threats of the Turkish state and terrorist groups supported and by Turkey to control our regions and realize the dream of the new Ottoman Empire."

“Turkey occupied Afrin, Serekaniyê and Girê Spî, and committed the most heinous massacres and changed the region's demography,” said Judei, adding that what is happening in Afrin, contradicts human values before the eyes and ears of the world, on top of which is the United States of America and Russia.

He appealed to the US to establish a no-fly zone extending from Semalka to Afrin "until the confidence of our people in these countries which have failed the peoples of the region in the face of Turkey. America's humanitarian and moral duty to support our regions because it heads the Global Coalition".

In turn, the spokesperson for the Council of Clans' elders and Notables ,Sheikh Sinan Sidosh, said: "We are worthy of everything that is in the interest of this country and what we want is to protect the rights of all components without exception."

"We have offered thousands of martyrs and protected all religious sanctities, sects and components in the region, so We can enjoy safe life, and the international coalition is required to work on the participation of a delegation from the people of NE Syria in drafting the constitution."

Musaed Al-Zobaie, welcomed in his turn to the American envoy and displayed several demands to the American envoy and said: "The United States of America has an important role in the region to stand with the peoples of NE Syria without discrimination to preserve the safety of this region."

"We do not want war with Turkey or with any other country, and the so-called Syrian National Army, supported by Turkey, is killing our sons in the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces. we only want to live in peace and security," he added.

Youssef Ishaq, a member of the council, called in the name of the Chaldeans and Syriacs, for the United States of America to lift the siege imposed on Syria because the people are suffering from a severe economic crisis, and he said: "The state does not care about the blockade because the people pay their bill."

Ishaq said, "Like Iraq, we want oil for food because the economic blockade on the region that has negatively affected living life."

In turn, Saleh al-Ahmad, a member of the Council, said: “The people who have made thousands of sacrifices must live in dignity on their historical land,” adding: “The demands of the people in Syria are to draft a constitution for all Syrians who live on their land and return to the areas occupied by the tyrant Erdogan."

Al-Ahmad noted, "After its military failure, Turkey is trying, through a special war, to eliminate the Syrian people by creating discord among the components."

Sheikh Masum Al-Dirshwi, Imam of the Old Mosque in Dêrik, also spoke and said: “The interests are ruling the countries. Turkey has skinned Afrin, Serekaniyê and Girê Spî, and annexed it to the Ottoman Empire. We want America to clarify its position towards our regions. "

And after the American envoy, David Brownstein, listened to the elders and notables, he thanked everyone for accepting his invitation to meet with them in Dêrik and to have dinner on the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, as he described it."

Brownstein added, "A long talk awaits us in the coming days, and I want to get to know you more to exchange views, and bring these issues to decision makers and change some of the amendments in reality."

Brownstein noted, "The peoples of the region have suffered enough during a decade of war in the region, so my goal in meeting you today, is to listen to your ideas and suggestions and present them to the American administration," adding that he is communicating with the Commander in Chief of SDF Mazloum Abdi and the Autonomous Administration in order to form a policy that serves everyone, he said, "This is my primary goal."

Brownstein added that the region suffers from the economic file, "and I am aware of this, so what is required is to solve the economic crisis so that we can present steps in the political file as well."

Brownstein said, "Our preoccupation with the war has caused neglect of some matters, especially meeting with elders and tribal sheikhs in the region, so we will intensify meetings to exchange views."

After that, the general coordinator of the council of tribal notables in the Dêrik Hawass region presented in the name of the council a memorial gift to the American envoy, which is a folkloric Kurdish dress that is more than two hundred years old.

A
