Israeli raids target government sites in Damascus

Israeli fighters have launched air strikes in the vicinity of the city of Damascus, while the Syrian defenses responded to these strikes.

The Damascus government’s SANA agency reported that the army’s air defenses “responded, after midnight, to an Israeli missile attack on some points in the vicinity of Damascus, and dropped most of the enemy missiles.”

A military source told SANA, "At about 00:56 on Thursday, the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with bursts of missiles from the Lebanese territory targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus, and our air defense media intercepted the missiles and dropped most of them."

The source added, "The aggression resulted wounding four soldiers, and some physical losses."

In addition, the Lebanese Al-Manar TV reported that one of the Syrian air defense missiles chased an Israeli warplane in the airspace of the border region and heard its sound throughout southern Lebanon.

According to the source, "the Israeli strikes targeted several sites near Damascus, and destroyed an Iranian weapons warehouse."
