Coming from Iraq

Our agency obtained the confessions of a mercenary who was arrested on the second day of the campaign in Al-Hol camp, and he is known as "Abu Ibrahim", who is one of the mercenaries of the so-called "Abu Al-Walid" cell.

The mercenary Abu Ibrahim is Hussam Talib Fayyad, an Iraqi citizen, he comes from the city of Fallujah in the Iraqi Anbar Governorate, and he joined the ranks of ISIS mercenaries in 2014, and worked at its checkpoints in Anbar Province and the city of Al-Qaim.

Splitting

The mercenary Hussam Fayyad arrived in the Syrian territories in 2017 in the town of Al-Susah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and split from ISIS ranks there - according to his confessions - to enter Al-Hol camp as a refugee after he fled, after the Syrian Democratic Forces advanced in 2019 towards the town under ISIS mercenaries control.

Re-joining ISIS

The mercenary Hussam Fayyad returned to the ranks of ISIS in 2019, as he joined an ISIS cell inside the camp, after he got acquainted with the mercenary Marwan Hamid, known as "Abu Junaid", who in turn worked as a mercenary in ISIS cells inside the camp.

Commissioning

The mercenary Hussam Fayyad was assigned to carry out the killing operations in "Abu Al-Walid" cell inside Al-Hol camp, and a source for collecting information in the so-called "Abu Al-Walid" and "Abu Akram" cells, thus he was a mercenary within two cells at the same time.

Abu Al-Walid cell consists of four mercenaries, headed by the so-called "Marsoum Muhammad", nicknamed "Abu Al-Walid", and the rest of the elements are (Abd al-Salam Qadir, nicknamed “Abu Hassan”, Marwan Hamid Shwehi, nicknamed “Abu Junaid”, and the mercenary Hussam Fayyad).

Alaa Ahmed a displaced woman killed

Mercenary Hussam Fayyad admitted that a cell called "Abu Al-Walid" had killed the displaced Syrian Alaa Ahmed last February.

He also admitted that they had submitted more than 107 intelligence reports on the employees in the camp administration and the security forces that guard it, in addition to personalities in the councils formed in the camp that oversee the service and distribution of aid.

Jarrah

Regarding the party from which they receive instructions to carry out the killing operations, he said: "The information reaches Abu Al-Walid and he is the one who delivers it to us, and according to my knowledge, the instructions were issued by Jarrah, who is one of the most senior officials in charge of state cells in al-Jazeera."

According to the mercenary Hussam, the two cells in which he worked, namely the cells of "Abu Akram" and "Abu Al-Walid", one of them is a military that carries out the killing and striking of targets, and the other is security for collecting information and monitoring.
