Abeer Hassaf: International agendas practiced Geneva conferences

Abeer Hassaf explained that the Syrian crisis turned into a wave in which the interests of regional and global countries controlled to drown the Syrian people, stressing that "the Geneva conferences that were held under international sponsorship and the absence of real representatives of the Syrian people, through which international agendas were practiced."

The Ezdina Foundation, in cooperation with the US State Department, organized its first session in Al-Hasakah under the title, "A Constitution That Protects Us," for a future that guarantees the rights of everyone.

The project aims to emphasize the importance of the political process in Geneva, and to introduce the local community of everything that is happening within the halls of the United Nations regarding the negotiations that are taking place on the future of a political solution in Syria.

The session was attended by a number of young people from all components in Al-Hasakah city, the official spokeswoman for the Ezdina Foundation, Avin Sheikhmous, and Dr. Abeer Hassaf.

The session began with holding a minute of silence, then Dr. Abeer Hassaf spoke, at the beginning of her speech, thanking the Ezdina Foundation for undertaking such an important activity, to reach opinions and proposals to improve the situation in the coming Syria, about the 9 Geneva conferences and their work, and about the Syrian crisis.

Abeer shed light on the Geneva conferences and constitutions, as she introduced the homeland and the Syrian crisis, and said, "As components and peoples in Syria, we searched for the concept of the homeland in which the popular movement began and turned into a wave controlled by the interests of regional and global countries to plunge the Syrian people into a suffocating crisis."

Abeer indicated that they are trying to get out of the suffocating crisis, and she emphasized, "the Geneva conferences held under international auspices and the absence of real representatives of the Syrian people in them, through which international agendas were practiced and some of them determined the fate of Syria."

Then discussion opened to the attendees about the Geneva sessions, the marginalization of all components of north and east Syria and preventing them from representing their role in the sessions.

Then the guests, writer and political analyst Shorsh Darwish, and Member of the Constitutional Committee in Geneva, Dr. Dorsen Al-Oskan, joined by the zoom application, indicating the importance of working on the Syrian constitution and the involvement of all components and the necessity of having representatives from north and east Syria.

Then the audience asked some questions about the importance of the constitution and the future of Syria.

The dialogue session ended with the issuance of several recommendations, including political demands, young people entering councils at a limited rate, not nominating a president for government more than twice, determining the period and provisions of the emergency law, economic demands, equitable distribution of wealth, economic independence, activating the role of youth by holding training courses and assisting them in submitting proposals and initiatives, establishing youth groups and providing opportunities for youth to participate in them, self-sufficiency in economic terms.

Social and cultural demands, demands for equality, non-discrimination and racism between religions and cultures, the right to education and the spread of the mother tongue in universities and schools, opposition to sectarianism in society, the right to express opinion and the right to identity for every citizen, the participation of women and youth in political decisions, health and social security for all existing components.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first session in the city of al-Hasakah after the end of five sessions in the city of Qamishlo, and it is noteworthy that the next sessions will be attended by a number of media groups, women, the components of the region, clerics, politicians and community leaders.
