During the demonstration in which thousands of displaced Afrin residents took place in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton, today, and with the participation of a delegation from north and east Syria that included political and women figures, our correspondent monitored the views of a number of members of the delegation, including Ibrahim al-Qaftan, the Head of the Future Syria Party, who said: "The 18th of March is the day of Afrin's liberation, not its usurpation because we will expel those tyrants from Afrin. It is the international day of resistance (Resistance of the Age) and a day of shame and disgrace for the Turkish state."

Al-Qaftan denounced the crimes of the Turkish state and the Syrian mercenaries who support it and are hostile to their Syrian people, pledging, "From the Euphrates River to Afrin River, our souls will merge, we will triumph and we will return to Afrin all from Dêrik to Daraa, and from Damascus to al-Hasakah."

Al-Qaftan concluded his speech saying: "We will be one heart because Afrin is everyone's. It also contains more than 15 million olive trees. We have in every inch of Afrin a tree from our hearts, we will return in the near future."

For her part, the Administrator of the Women’s Council in Raqqa, Maryam Ibrahim, said: "We came as a delegation from the city of Raqqa to share the tragedies of Afrin people and stand by them on this painful memory, where all the people of Raqqa know that the people of Afrin are the beating heart and the resistance in Syria."

Maryam continued her speech: "Afrin embraced all components in the midst of the Syrian crisis and was a tender mother and a warm embrace for all Syrians. We came to express our position opposing the Turkish state’s policies and crimes, and to denounce what it did against the people; displacement, killing, destruction, arrests and assassinations. We know that they did not commit any sin except the humanity and mercy with which they treated all Syrian people."

Maryam Ibrahim confirmed: "We came to tell Afrin people that we, the people of Raqqa, are in solidarity with you heart and mind, and we will be one hand against the tyrant of the age. To return the favor to those who supported us from Afrin in the liberation of Raqqa, we will be ready to meet the call and we will be in one trench and one hand against any aggression that targets our lands, whether it is in Afrin or elsewhere."

Maryam concluded her speech by saying: "We, the people of Raqqa, have ambition, hope and great confidence in the Syrian Democratic Forces and the steadfast, resisting people of Afrin, and whoever liberated Raqqa will definitely liberate Afrin."
