SDF: claims made by RSF untrue

A statement was released by the Media and Information Office of the Syrian Democratic Forces in reply to a statement released by Reporters Without Borders, the RSF, claiming that 3 journalists were arrested by the SDF in areas under control to which the latter made clear that such legal actions are not their responsibility.

Statement regarding the allegations made by the RSF, by the Office of Media and Information of the SDF:

''Reporters Without Borders said in a statement published on it's website on March 8th that that Syrian Democratic Forces arrested three journalists in areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. As a military forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces is not responsible for public law enforcement, and it is not authorized to take legal action against individuals. Legal action concerning individuals in NES falls under the responsibility of judicial institutions and Internal Security Forces (Asayish) of the Autonomous Administration. Our forces are neither responsible, associated or involved in the claims of arrests as mentioned by Reporters Without Borders''.
