Afrin clans’ notables call for including coalition in terrorist lists

The statement, which was read by the Member of the Clans’ Notables of Afrin, Jumaa Welo, came after the gathering of dozens of members of Clans’ Notables Foundation of Afrin region and the notables of the region, in front of the Foundation's center in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton, northern Syria, to denounce the recent visit of the Syrian Coalition to Başûr Kurdistan.

The text of the statement included:

 “We, the notables of al-Shahba and Afrin, condemn, denounce and deplore in the strongest terms the visit of the delegation of the so-called Syrian National Coalition, especially Nasr al-Hariri to Başûr Kurdistan. This Coalition has become a pariah among all Syrians and all the Arab, European and American countries, which was and is still defending Turkey, the massacres and crimes committed by the occupied terrorist forces such as Jabhet al-Nusra, ISIS and their advocators, while they are being received in Hewlêr as liberating heroes and conquerors, and not as invaders, occupiers and usurpers of Syrian lands in general and some Kurdish areas in particular.

We, the notables of al-Shahba and Afrin, consider that this visit contradicts all diplomatic, political, moral and humanitarian norms which were carried out under the directives of the President of the Turkish occupation state after all his reckless policies inside and outside Turkey failed, and which we consider a blatant interference in the Syrian internal affairs and an insult to its peoples and components in general, which is considered encouragement for the delegation to absolve Turkey of the massacres and crimes and legitimize its occupation and invasion, starting with the massacres committed against the people of Tel Aran, Tel Hasel, and the villages of al-Shahba, passing through Afrin and reaching Tel Abyad and Ras al-Ain.

In our turn, we, the dignitaries of al-Shahba and Afrin, demand local, regional and international human rights and humanitarian organizations and bodies to hold the so-called Syrian National Coalition responsible equally with the Turkish occupation state for all war crimes that have been and still being committed against humanity in all the occupied Syrian areas with Kurdish majority and privacy on a daily basis.

In addition to requesting the international community, its bodies and organizations to place the Coalition on the list of organizations that support and finance terrorism, cut off all forms and means of financial and moral support from it, and refuse to deal with it as a representative of the Syrian people, with our condemnation and denunciation of all suspicious and paid visits of the Coalition’s leaders and members, especially Nasr al-Hariri.
