The first batch of the Russian “Sputnik” vaccine against the Coronavirus arrived in the control areas of the Damascus government, and the Minister of Health in the Damascus government announced the start of vaccination, starting tomorrow, Sunday, where medical personnel working in direct contact with those infected with the virus will be vaccinated in the first stage.

According to the Syrian Observatory's sources, the first batch that arrived in Syria a few days ago is estimated in the thousands, and it is part of the “media” deal between Israel and the Damascus government, and it is among the hidden provisions of the deal.

The Observatory wondered about the source of the money for the Damascus government to buy this vaccine in light of these difficult economic conditions, saying: “Where does the Syrian regime have the money to cover the costs of the vaccine while it is living its worst days in economic terms, and that Israel would have carried out the prisoner release process, whether with or without a deal? ".

This comes at a time when the search for the remains of Israeli soldiers and the Israeli agent Eli Cohen continues by the Russians in cemeteries south of Damascus.

According to the latest statistics of the Syrian Observatory obtained from reliable medical sources within the control areas of the Damascus government, the number of people infected with the "Covid-19" virus reached about 361 thousand confirmed infections, of which more than 167 thousand recovered, while 15,968 people died.

It is noteworthy that the official numbers of the Ministry of Health of the Damascus government since the pandemic entered the Syrian territories are 15,467 injuries, of which 1,018 died, while the cases of recovery reached 9,637.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights counted the death of 172 doctors within the areas controlled by the Damascus government, as a result of their infection with the Coronavirus during the past 2020, and the observatory documented them by name.
