The Martyrs' Families Council, the MFC, in the Euphrates region held an in-absentia ceremony for two martyrs of the Gara's Resistance, attended by hundreds of Kobane canton people at the martyr Dijla Shrine.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyrs, followed by a speech by the member of Kobane's Kongra Star, who said: “Our people must all know that these comrade's martyrdom made a great victory, because they broke a major attack by the fascist Turkish state that targeted the Kurdish people will.”

And she continued saying, "The Guerrillas willingly resisted the Turkish state heavily armed and prevented it from occupying Gara, to cut the link between the four parts of Kurdistan."

This was followed by a speech by the co-chair of the Euphrates region, Muhammad Shaheen, who said, "The enemy is one against the Kurdish people in the four parts of Kurdistan, by all means and mentality to undermine the will of the peoples in the Middle East under its tyrannical power."

Shaheen indicated that liberating the Kurdish people will be the starting point for liberation of the peoples in the Middle East, and that this will be achieved thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs, as the victory of the Gara legend.

For his part, Mansour Salloum, a member of the Future Syria Party in the Euphrates region, paid a tribute to the families of the martyrs, who promised to follow in the martyrs' steps until the liberation of NE Syria.

He also addressed a word to the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation, saying, "Those who betrayed the homeland under Erdogan, we say, you have betrayed and the history will curse you, as all the components are in one trench here until the liberation of the land."

In turn, Khalil Mahmoud delivered a speech on behalf of the family of the martyr Dalil Kobane, who in turn condoled the martyrs' families and pointed out that had it not been for the sacrifices of the martyrs, the people of NE Syria would not have been able to co-live together and struggle in the face of Turkish fascism occupation of NE Syria.

Nihad Othman delivered, on behalf of the family of the martyr Reber Kobane, a speech in which he said: "Martyrs are our identity and we will be on their path.  We will be worthy of their pure blood."

The two martyrs are Awni Mahmoud, the nom de guerre “Dalil Mahmud,” from the village of Qarmagh, east of Kobani, and Ibrahim Othman, nom de guerre “Reber Koktibi”, from the village of Koktebi, southeast of Kobani.
