North-east Syria... Russian, international silence is green light for continued attacks

While the Turkish occupation state continues to launch attacks on the regions of north and east Syria and commits massacres against defenseless civilians in every region it occupies, international and Russian silence prevails regarding these attacks and crimes, and although the latter plays the role of guarantor of the ceasefire, it has not yet committed to its duty as a guarantor amid the continued Turkish attacks.

After its indirect intervention through its support of the mercenaries in the north of Syria, the Turkish occupation state headed to direct intervention in the lands of north Syria and occupy many areas, after directing threats to the people of the region to occupy it in order to intimidate them and displace them from their areas to prepare the ground for the attack and occupation of the region.

Continued attacks and threats

Every time, after launching the attacks and occupying the region, the Turkish occupation state commits massacres against civilians, including women and children, and after its occupation of each region, it works to displace the indigenous people from the region and settle the families of mercenaries affiliated with it, as observers believe that it aims to change the demographics of the region and evacuate it from the Kurds in particular.

The Turkish occupation state occupied Afrin on March 18, 2018, after launching an offensive that was confronted by resistance that lasted for 58 days, and before that it had occupied the areas of Azaz, Jarablus and Al-Bab in the summer of 2016.

On October 09, 2019, the Turkish state occupied the regions of Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain and Girê Spî, in which the most heinous crimes against humanity were committed.

With the aim of occupying more Syrian lands, the Turkish occupation state has escalated its attacks on Ain Issa region since nearly 3 months, with almost daily bombardment and infiltration attempts, coinciding with the almost daily bombardment of villages in the countryside of Manbij, al-Shahba and Tel Tamr.

Turkish reconnaissance planes also launch attacks on the region from time to time, as a Turkish reconnaissance plane bombed a civilian home on the 22nd of last month, resulting in the injury of a civilian. In addition, a massacre with Turkish drone preceded that in the village of Helenj on the 23rd of June of last year.

Russia has not fulfilled its obligations

Despite the conclusion of an agreement between Turkey and Russia, and the latter's intervention as a guarantor of a ceasefire in the region, Turkey has not stopped threatening and launching attacks on the region.

Turkey and Russia had reached an agreement on October 22, 2019, which stipulated 10 items, including the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces to beyond the Syrian-Turkish border by a distance of not less than 30 km and a ceasefire, in addition to the conduct of joint Turkish-Russian patrols at a depth of 10 km in the border areas with Turkey and the Syrian government has deployed its soldiers on the border.

Observers believe that Turkey has not adhered to the agreement and overstepped its borders by continuing to launch attacks on the region, in addition to Russia's failure to fulfill its duties as a guarantor in the agreement to stop Turkey's attacks on the region.

Turkey aims to destabilize the security of the region

In this context, the Administrator in the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria, Kobane Office, Ferman Hussein, believes that “the Turkish state always wants, through its attacks, to target the Kurdish people wherever they are, with the aim of preventing any formation or success of any Kurdish entity in the region, in addition to destabilizing the security and stability of the region through its direct and indirect interference in the lands of northern Syria and northern Iraq, where the Kurds are located to displace them and work to change the demographics of the region and exterminate the Kurdish people ethnically, geographically and culturally.

Ferman Hussein pointed out that “Russia has not fulfilled its duty as a guarantor in the region. On the contrary, it has worked to pressure the Autonomous Administration through Turkish attacks to serve its interests and the Syrian government’s.”

The Administrator in the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria denounced the Russian and international silence towards Turkey's attacks on the region, and said that they must do their moral duty towards the people of northern Syria and its administration to protect the region.

Constant struggle and resistance

For his part, the Administrator in the Syrian Kurdish Accord Party, Kobane’s office, Adham Shedu, said that “the Turkish state is hostile to the Kurds wherever he is, and every time it attacks the Kurds with flimsy pretexts with the aim of exterminating the Kurdish people everywhere.”

In the conclusion of his speech, Shedu stressed that the Kurdish people must unite in the face of the enemies, and build the Kurdish house with a unified opinion and stance towards all the Turkish attacks that the Kurds are exposed to in Rojava and the four parts of Kurdistan.

While the Turkish occupation state continues to launch attacks and direct threats to the northern and eastern regions of Syria, the struggle of the people of the region with all its components continues towards these threats, in conjunction with the resistance of the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces and their repulsion of these almost daily attacks in the regions of Ain Issa, Manbij, Kobane and Dêrik.
